Trump is a mega winner. Personal worth over $10b. Immediate name recognition globally. Former POTUS. Adult children who are doing fairly well themselves. Plus a truly fine wife.

Don't you just love the way that the left tries to say on the one hand, "Oh, Trump doesn't really own those things. He got forced out by the banks, and he just gets naming rights as a figurehead," but then turns around and when it is discovered that some Trump properties were valued differently for property taxes than for obtaining bank loans, say, "Oh, that's a criminal offense by Donald Trump."

Those statements cannot possibly both be true. If all Trump has is naming rights, then he has absolutely zero to do with tax renditions. Nor, for that matter, does it create an emoluments issue when people stay at Trump hotels. He gets the same, regardless of those. Regardless, Trump probably has zero culpability for any of the property tax renditions, which are civil issues, not criminal, even if true.

And what homeowner or property owner gets to set their own valuations? I’ve owned a few things over the years, and aside from doing a private sale of a used car or something there’s always a third party involved.
