1. The current Corporately backed leadership of the U.S. is much more pro-Arab and anti-Israel. E.G. The Squad.

2. Putin is anti-globalist. Though not pro-Israel, they at least know where he stands, and Israel is concerned about China's growing presence in Africa and parts of the Middle East. So, Syria is their only point of contention with Russia. Don't misunderstand, Israel doesn't trust Russia. They just trust Putin to be Putin, which right now is more reliable than Progressives.

This is what happens when you airdrop pallets of cash to ayatollahs and reverse course on Trump's policy, and take a dump on Israel. Nice work Biden*.

Maybe because Israel is about to run an offensive operation against Iran. If Israel wants to take out Irans nuke program---nows the time to do it. Iran's big dog protector has bigger fish to fry right now.

Russia is in Syria and has threatened or warned Israel numerous times it will not tolerate airstrikes in Syria, even if it is Iranian soldiers. Russia wants the oil and natural gas that is off the coast of Israel.

Further Russia is recruiting pro-Russian Syrians to fight in Ukraine while Anti-Russian Syrians are being recruited to also fight in Ukraine.

That's a good use of Machiavelli. Either way war aged Syrians die. Russia gets the gas and oil and Israel gets rid of a nuclear threat. Maybe Ukraine and Russia are in on it together. Acceptable losses to essentially take over Syria and Iran is acceptable in their world. Both get wealthier and Russia is once again the big guy with a stick in Eastern Europe and Nato has some thinking to do.

The left here hates Israel, Israel knows Biden and the left hate them, Iran hates them plus Russia has eyes on them, plus China is a growing problem. Plus Iran, Russia and Turkey all have troops on their northern border.

They have to play 5-D chess here for the time being.

I think I agree with point 2 and parts of point 1. But, from everything I read, the Israelis and Arabs are somewhat aligned on most ME matters even if the Arab states will never admit to as much. The Abraham Accords were a much bigger deal than anyone wants to admit (orange man bad, mean tweets), but there was something there, even if the Saudis weren’t party to it.

The Dems seem hellbent upon siding with the Iranians, however, and their arguments seem to be based in the arguments I’ve heard from neocons for the past 30 years or so.

Syria wouldnt be the target. Most of the Arab nations would be fine with Irans nuclear program being destroyed--or at least set way back.

Quite so, but they have long experience with that by now.

For years and years, Netanyahu bore the brunt of the anti-Israel sentiment in US media. This may be the moment when American liberals finally catch on to the fact that the new guy is even more of a right-wing hard ass than Bibi was.

Oh good a UN condemnation.... that will stop this in it's tracks.

Maybe Israel isn't so quick to play along with the UN condemnations given that the UN typically condemns Israel.
