MyBB Big Ten Men's Basketball Head Coaches - Stay or Go?
I did discuss this in the ACC board so I'll do it here as well...

I'll go in order of current Big Ten standings:

Wisconsin - Greg Gard - Solid head coach, perennial NCAAT team, not going anywhere

Purdue - Matt Painter - Could coach at Purdue for life barring something bad happening

Illinois - Brad Underwood - Definitely has Illinois heading in the right direction

Ohio State - Chris Holtmann - Top tier Big Ten coach, not going anywhere

Iowa - Fran McCaffery - Surprised he was able to keep Iowa good after losing Luka Garza.

Michigan State - Tom Izzo - Great win over Purdue yesterday. Obviously he will decide when he leaves.

Michigan - Juwan Howard - Showed last year he can coach and has proven he can recruit. If he doesn't come back it will be his behavior that will be the reason. Can Michigan afford to bring him back after what happened? That's a whole different debate than performance related.

Rutgers - Steve Pikell - The way Rutgers has performed in the last two years the guy deserves a lifetime contract.

Indiana - Mike Woodson - Started out good but right now I'm not convinced he's better than Archie. But you're not firing him after one year.

Penn State - Micah Shrewsberry - Who? Then again, we're talking Penn State. How good did you expect them to be?

Northwestern - Chris Collins - NW is now 13-14 but was 8-22 and 9-15 the last two years. If the Wildcats finish below .500 it will be for the fifth season in a row and that 2017 NCAA Tournament appearance seems like a distant memory. But Northwestern is probably one of the worst Power 6 jobs out there, can they get someone better than the only NCAAT head coach in their history, especially having to compete in state with Brad Underwood?

Maryland - Danny Manning - Mark Turgeron quit/was fired? earlier. Maryland was a preseason Top 25 team and was arguably the biggest disappointment in NCAA men's basketball this year. If this was Manning's audition for the UMD job, he's failing. Next.

Minnesota - Ben Johnson - What, Carl Lewis wasn't available? Any surprise they're second to last? But you can't fire him after one year

Nebraska - Fred Hoiberg - They've RESTRUCTED Hoiberg's contract! Hopefully for Nebraska it means it's easier to fire him in the future but they won't do it after this season. Fred's currently 6–48 (.111) and 21–64 (.247). I'd say Nebraska is Western crap but that would be an insult to both the West AND to crap!

So I expect the only head coach opening to be at Maryland but I think that will be a highly sought after opening.
