as a uc fan, i hate to say it, but UC has no chance here. looking at a brutal end to a mediocre season. but, thanks for being nice, and including them!

UC was basically out of it before the UCF game having already been swept by Memphis and Temple, and also lost to Tulane. Their only path was SMU falling apart. UC is completely done as far as a top 5 seed.

Could theoretically be the 6, but more likely the 7 with UCF having the tiebreaker.

The Tulane @ Temple winner is a lock for a spot, I think.

Tulane better not need anything heading into Moody, however.

Temple is 0-3 already against our 3 remaining opponents. That being said, we played Houston close, lost to USF after 2 starters went down to injury, and took Tulane to OT with a depleted roster. So like most of the American I have no idea wtf will happen.

your tulane reamining games:
they have @temple, ucf and @smu

assuming no tulsa or usf upsets, most of the spots have already been decided ... Tulane has to win out to retain top 4/5.. unlikely

tulane vs temple will likely decide if ucf is top 5 (ucf has the tie-breaker over temple-- if temple losses to houston)

This is a mish mash. I was going to make a prediction but too many moving parts.

I will say the loser between Temple/Tulane is definitely NOT out of it, though.

Wins against Temple and UCF will do the trick. They need those two more than a win at SMU.

Say Tulane Finishes 4th and Houston ends up 2nd (behind SMU, which is very possible). For everyone not named Pesik .. would you vote Sampson or Hunter for COY? Could make a real strong case for both. If UH finishes 1st, its Sampson. But if they don't, I think you have to take Hunter.

If Tulane finishes 4th I might consider Hunter regardless.

I would consider McKie, also. They have exceeded expectations and they play hard.

I'm going to say UCF #4 based on those match-ups.

idk - not to be mean, but temple, to me, comes off as a bad team, that's just been beating other bad teams (incl. UC this year)- just a really bad year the "merican.

sampson's done a nice job, but UH is / was supposed to win - tulane not so much. so, i think hunter gets some extra points for pushing his team to produce this year.

Main reason why I think Sampson if they end up #1 is they did lose 2 really key players. So if they still win the league .. that's something ...

mckie isnt winnig COY but the context of what temple is doing is important

Temple is one of the youngest teams in the nation even at full strength, only 1 rotation player is older than a covid sophomore..and he was just a junior (this was at full strength)

since then they lost their best player for the year early (khalif battle). lost their best big, and the sole rotation junior for most of the season (jake Forrester).. and their best 2 players remaining have missed the last few games (damien dunn and jeremiah williams)..
They beat cincy and smu with either 3 or 4 starters missing, playing with extremely young players with almost no experience

houston lost 4 starters from the previous year, then lost 2 starters from this year , with 3 other players missing games, and houston is a top 10 team still ...
no one including sampson would have expected us to be 23-4 after sasser and mark went down

something to note in this COY discussion... its voted the week before the season ends... Houston not being #1 likely won't be decided til the last game

If SMU wins the league, Jank, who most SMU fans love to hate, will be COY. I see a 10 year extension if that happens.

If by chance SMU slides out of Houston with a W you have to consider Jank for COY.

I will now go wash my mouth out with soap.

He'd only win because he didn't have to play Wichita twice though... Lol
