Everett Case and The ACC Tournament
I have enjoyed watching the ACC tournament history shows this month. I had no idea that Everett Case was primarily responsible for the formation of the ACC. I also did not know that NC State was the #1 seed for many years from 1949 to 1953 in the Southern Conference. William and Mary was the 2 seed in both 49 and 50. Both years they lost in the semis. In 1953, NC State, Duke, UNC, Maryland, Wake Forest, South Carolina and Clemson left to form the ACC. Apparently, William and Mary not wanting to play big time football was the reason listed as to why they were left out.
