Here's a fun little story. When i was in college i competed in the steel bridge competition as the captain. After we narrowly beat out TAMU for 1st and a trip to nationals we posted or video on YouTube and one of the suggested videos was Houston's competition video. They bombed, expectedly, and their video was 75% our bridge hahahahahahaha scrubs!

LOL I'm not sure what that has to do with this thread, other than you're desperately seeking some kind of validation to soothe a napolean complex.

Do you feel taller now? 03-lmfao

It was a real world example justifying why i think so little of you and your school. No issues with my height but it's amusing seeing you grasp at straws lol

The "height" thing was a metaphor. God your dense. 03-lmfao

Well at least you can build model bridges, didn't know there's a market for that, but good luck on ya.

Well at least our opinions of each others schools match, so congrats, you're on that level with a UH fan. lol

Lol you calling it a model bridge is funny, and i build the real thing so I'd say it worked out. That wasn't a metaphor 03-lmfao

haha, maybe it's because every other line in your posts is "me this" and "me that"... goodness I've never seen someone needing to stroke their own ego as much as you, and you wonder why nobody is taking you seriously?

Seriously, designing bridges these days is pretty much software automated, computer models spit out the design requirements for bridges like candy corn. Yay, you can enter data parameters into a computer program. lol

Now the actual bridge construction workers, those guys are worthy of praise.

Oh sorry, did I touch a napoleon nerve? 03-lmfao

I read the room. I didn't care. I don't care in real life and it's gotten me pretty far, so it's laughable to think i would care in a forum.

You cared. Starting this stupid arse thread shows you cared, if not just a little bit.

No idea how this makes sense. Wouldnt have backing off showed i cared about reading the room? The room had nobody in it when i made the thread so how could i care about reading an empty room.

you're so lame. 03-lmfao

Not because you're a construction worker (I do admire those guys that can work on heights), but because you can't seem to stay in your lane bro.

You understand that an engineer is in charge of most high dollar projects as the PM? small scale stuff you usually have a superintendent that worked his way up but he answers to an engineer. Lame because i don't see things the same way as you do or the majority? You've got problems

It's bad enough that Charlotte, UTSA, FAU, and UNT are joining the conference. You want to lower it further by making the SBC our direct competition??? I hope SMU gets a lifeline fast!

Hes going to say it's a metaphor, when in my case with his Napoleon complex bit, he used an idiom. Metaphors are an indirect comparison while an idiom is a saying ir phrase that is used to describe a situation.

This here is just figurative talk maybe expressing hyperbole but really it's just a random expression.

LOL, I guess since you got called out for pretending you're as smart, or even smarter, than an actual engineer, now you think maybe your chances are better at pretending to be an english major. ok. go ahead, own it dude. 03-lmfao

Can't help that i paid attention in English class. If you were an engineer you would know that technical writing and analysis are huge. You don't seem to possess either of those qualities. I think if anything your username brings up a lot of questions. Are you a train engineer maybe or even licenced? Legally your not suppose to present yourself as one of you haven't passed the PE lol pretty sure that law applies to the real world but hopefully in the future it will apply to this forum... Joking... Since you don't seem to grasp anything i write.

AAC/SBC Challenge
The only team from the sun belt , Mac, cusa etc that I would want to play every year is FIU just because they are a drive able trip for our sport teams. The rest no thanks .

Very happy to be coming to the AAC and realize what they can do to elevate my school. To think conference doesn't help is disingenuous .

That said , I won't genuflect to any member schools either. Especially to message board guys who probably didn't play a sport and are trying to act superior while watching on the couch.....

I'll hope the AAC does well and realize that some will try to talk down to us. Again , redirect to the last paragraph for my thoughts on those types

Eh this entire premise is garbage. The Sunbelt isn’t even in the same universe as us. We would best each team by at least four touchdowns. People need to understand that by making posts like this it acknowledges that the sunbelt is something more than a bunch of gloried Jucos which they are. We shouldn’t even acknowledge those clown schools. We are the big leagues and they aren’t even minor league. That’s all that needs to be said on this matter.

My son is going to be an engineer for bridges roads etc. He's doing an intern right now at Nevada Power. Straight A's three semesters in a row (yeah, I'm bragging). That's Civil Engineering....Right?

Anyway, he's about to graduate from UNR (Nevada Reno). Two degrees. His first one was for Criminal Justice. That was a waste in some ways but..........the Navy is flipping the bill for the second one, plus housing. All's well that ends well I guess.

For the record, I worked closely with our engineering staff. I can tell you, their email's had the worst spelling and grammar of anyone in the company. Software, Mechanical, and Electrical. All of them. We used to joke about it.

Must be a left brain/right brain thing.

That is technically civil engineering, but you hardly go over anything road or bridge related. There's a highway class that goes over the basics of horizontal and vertical curve design. I'm happy for you son, it's a rewarding career whatever subsection he decides on pursuing.

That being said I'm curious if they were PEs. Early in my career before getting licensed i wasn't so keen on the presentation of my correspondence or reports but once you get licensed there's this unwritten rule where is expected that you carry yourself in a manner that doesn't diminish what it means to be a PE.

I am praying ? that Memphis can get out of this soon to be trash conference filled with a bunch of fans of trash teams that only goal is to hang on the nutz of the few teams and fan bases that actually are striving for better while offering nothing but the least of everything needed to build comraderies and cohesion.
