One of the major problems the Left fails to grasp is that white people are not a monolith. I suppose their target is upper middle class Christian whites, who vote Republican. But even then you have folks who do not nearly fit in each category. Moreover, this does not even capture the differences along geographic locations, ancestry (Italian-Americans, Irish-Americans, German-American; Greek-American, Eastern European-American— these people all have different cultures and value systems).

I’ve mentioned before I am multi-racial. The “white” side of my family has a much more fractured family unit than the others. There is less education and more poverty. I’ve been able to uncover that my mother’s family has been in this country since at least the Revolutionary War— they’ve always been poor farmers or laborers. On my dad’s side we have doctor’s, lawyer’s, nurses, teachers, etc. despite the fact my grandfather served in a segregated outfit in the US Army.

The funny thing is that in the vast, vast majority of interactions between white folks and people of color (whatever their color may be), the interactions are cordial with no issues.

The political left and Hollywood portray that people are at each other’s throats everyday, but that really isn’t the reality most people see on a day to day basis. In fact, the media scour the entire country everyday trying to find an instance of racist behavior, and if they find one or two, they shout “see, America’s full of racists”………..and that’s with 340 million people.

There’s and entire industry that makes money and political hay promoting racism.

I’m personally sick of it and am hoping there are many, many more out there like me…….

I’ve had this conversation with people before, 95% of the people in this country are just trying to provide for their families and live their lives. They aren’t thinking about equity (not to be confused with equality), alleged voting rights issues, transgenderism, etc. It’s mostly the elite and blue haired people on Twitter who are obsessed with these issues.

That's flyover country thinking.

In California at least, people of different races legitimately DO hate each other.

I lived in San Diego for 3 years. The assumption in southern CA is that everyone stays within their own ethnic group in and it's "us vs them" for everyone. At work people are cordial, even friendly, but even there tension occasionally boils over (there were an Arab and an Iranian at my work who sometimes turned our meetings into shouting matches). And outside of work... let's just say that there were many times that white strangers would assume that I'm "safe" to talk to and say the most ridiculous racist garbage. And the worst part was that every time I went to Los Angeles, I was painfully aware that LA was 5x worse than SD in this regard.

In real life, beyond the zealots, most adults get along and make an effort to not needlessly antagonize each other over differences---be those weight, culture, appearance, religion, age, politics, gender, sexual preference, or race.
