Great time to be a worker.

Yes, and apparently an equally good time to be a teet sucking leach based on the participation rate.

Great time to be a worker.

Is there anything you won't believe if it comes from your leaders?

Fed projects unemployment to drop… hell, we’re at 3.9% now.

And it is a great time to be a laborer… companies are throwing money at workers as the economy soars and more & more jobs are created.

and a terrible time to consume ...
b/c business passes along cost ...

Great time to be a worker.
Socialist policies subsidize the unemployed and create an incentive not to work.

Employers forced to pay higher wages to compete with socialist policies.

Increased labor costs drive inflation as companies pass on as much as possible to consumers.

Higher employee overhead causes a net reduction in hours in some instances, and reduced production.

Reduced production squeezes supply and demand rises, further fueling inflation.

Socialist govt points to falling unemployment as sign economic policies are working, aided by record numbers of workers aging out and retiring.

If it's such a great time to be a worker, let's drastically slash unemployment benefits.

OMG ROFLMAO!!! This so reminds me of Asian guy running a convenient store when I was a teenager before tobacco laws were in place. My dad sent me into his store to get Havatampa cigars. All the cigars were behind the counter to prevent theft I’m sure. So, he started on the top row and said havatampa as he went to each tobacco product until he came across Havatampa some 5 rows down. It was like he struck oil with excitement when he found them. Obviously my Dad who most likely suffered ADHD as I did was hot that it had taken long until I explained to him about the process the Asian guy used to find the cigars. His demeanor went from anger to laughing hysterically. Poor guy had a terrible Chines accent as well. But to his credit he was a determined worker something that is missing these days in the Us.

RE: Dec. JOLTS: 10.9M Jobs Unfilled
TBH my daughter switched jobs not for the big raise she got but because they were over working her on salary and placing nearly all of the large accounts on her. The girl is roughly 3 years out of college and should not be a Senior Accountant. But, that was her title and the hours going in at 7 and not leaving until after 8 sometimes later caught up to her so she moved on. She loves her new job and pay raise. Now, she is being hounded by other companies wanted to make her a Controller. This is not a job for a young person mid twenties. She is a great team player and knows how to grind from her days as a scholarship athlete. My point is there has to be some desperation as this latest offer came from an Exxon Mobile Subsidiary. I also realize dedicated employees don’t grow on trees as well.

I started out in public accounting, were 80 hour work weeks during busy season were common. When I moved on, one question I asked my new boss during the interview was how much overtime they worked. He replied, "I don't think I've actually worked any overtime since I've been here. I came in for a couple of hours one Saturday to read my mail. Does that count?" I made my decision to change jobs based on that, and it worked out well.

To the new Company’s credit. She has only been there 90 days and she got an over the top year end bonus. Plus, they have hired her an assistant that starts next week to account for the overtime she is working which at this point is minimal to her last company. Not sure how financial derivatives work but having taken Multiple Calculus courses I recognize them but have no Excel experience to dive 5 deep into them and actually understand what is going on. Pretty sure that’s how that want it anyway. She shows me at what point on a range of numbers a corporate fraud going on. She did really well in all her Finance courses especially Forensics and Forecasting expenses. Says she hates that. But I would think that would be the most valuable. JMO

it's a great time to be a laborer, but it has little to do with the economy "soaring".

you might look again at the assertion that jobs are being "created". have we even recovered to the pre-pandemic level of jobs yet? we should be 3-4m more now than pre-pandemic just to keep up with the growth in the labor market.

The US worker figured out how to survive without working over the last couple of years, and companies are having trouble attracting them back leading to labor shortages. i doubt this changes in the foreseeable future, population growth is not enough to keep up with job demand growth.

Honest question.. do you really believe the labor market is strong because of a soaring economy, or are you just spouting talking points.

I choose B because reality lives here and it’s the correct answer.

RE: Dec. JOLTS: 10.9M Jobs Unfilled
And lost another 300,000 jobs in January.
301,000 jobs lost in January
Quote:Dragged down by more than 274,000 lost jobs in the service sectors, private employment fell by 301,000 from December to January, according to the ADP's National Employment Report released Wednesday—far worse than the 200,000 new jobs economists were expecting and the 807,000 posted in December.
