When my Mēxihcah ancestors lost their legs, they would just sacrifice someone, and then they got their legs back. Sam Houston here you go haha

It's nice watching this NMSU/GCU game. No gimmick B.S, just basketball.

Lamar is still winless. Crazy ending to the game with Coach Brooks of Lamar getting tossed.

Refs blew a call, when Adams drove for a potential game tieing score. Adams got fouled at least once as he began his drive then got called for a questionable charge as he released the shot which went in. Brooks had the natural reaction and got T'd up, then continued to complain picking up the second T. That's the way this full season has gone for the Cards, close but no cigar.

So true, at worst it should have been a no call. That was terrible, and I hated to see a game get decided like that.

GO AGGIES!!!

Yes, it does, but after several ugly wins that show a few bad patterns you lose confidence. So, it's not so much about the win or loss, but how the team is actually playing. Today was another perfect example for us.

RE: WAC MBB Week #12
NMSU was 23 of 41 at the free throw line and still win by 10. NMSU height really bothered GCU all night. Rice at 6'4 was all over the 5'11 Blacksher. Allen scores 28 points tonight without even attempting a 3 pointer. That's the WAC Player of the Year right there and he might not win but everyone knows that guy is the best player in this league. Allen also finished with 12 rebounds, 2 assist, 1 steal, and a black. Rice finished with 18 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assist, and a couple of blocks. GCU had a 6 point lead in the 2nd half after a Chris Jan's technical, and after that the Aggies came out and whooped them.

GCU is now 0-9 all-time in Las Cruces. New Mexico State has only lost 1 WAC home game in the last 10 years. That's what you call the toughest place to play at in the WAC.

Huge turning point in the game tonight in front of the WAC's biggest home crowd they'll ever see.

RE: WAC MBB Week #12
It was a great game and a good win for NM State. I am not sure why but GCU is just out of sorts. I'm sure it's a frustration for coaches, players and fans alike, but they just aren't playing up to their potential. Perhaps its just a routine slump that teams sometimes experience.

About the Aggies tonight-- Rice and Allen were amazing. Teddy had a normal Teddy night, but offensively Rice had a great night. I wish he was this assertive with the ball every night, but he's a lot more than just a scorer.

They (Rice and Allen) were 18 of 20 from the line and the rest of the team was 5 for 21. Strange. On the subject of free throws, the commentators stated how Drew was calling for someone to foul Nate Pryor, or foul someone, and the entire possession went by and no one fouled anyone. Plenty of chances to foul, and a critical point in the game (around 2:30 to play) and time just kept clicking off and no one did anything... That's the type of out of sync play I don't see from GCU normally.

Rebounding was huge tonight and the Aggie rebounding margin was large. NM State defense was pretty good, but I have a feeling it would have been a poor shooting night for GCU regardless. 3 point shooting was terrible for both teams. Under 20% for both teams, but GCU had way too many open looks. That was a defensive weak spot for sure, but thankfully they never started hitting them.

Bring on Seattle!

Fun fact: the Aggie crowd of 12,300 is more fans than numerous WAC teams will have at all of their home games combined:) Based on Sam Houstons numerous crowds of under 200, it would take 62 games, or approximately 4 seasons worth of home games to reach that many fans.

Not many teams have 25 NCAA appearances and double digit conference championships, and have been D1 for a long time. Congrats for being D1 the longest and beating up on the WAC of the last 10 years with D2 move ups and D1 cast offs! Very “impressive”.

It cost $3.5 million to build the Pan American Center and even today it's still the best arena in the WAC.

It would be the best arena in many conferences. Not sure about all of the CUSA venues, but it will be up there.

What a crowd it was tonight!

I'm glad NMSU played well as a team. I am a little surprised Rice was able to shutdown Blacksher so thoroughly. I have always felt Blacksher is the best point guard in the WAC. Holland Wood had a good game. But with the two of them only producing 4 assists total, all by Blacksher, it took away the offensive production from the rest of the Lopes team; as the Lopes big men heavily thrive off of Blacksher's and Woods' pick-n-roll passes.

RE: WAC MBB Week #12
Teddy Allen is currently the second leading scorer (20.3 ppg) in WAC play. However, Seattle U has three players (Cam Tyson (19.4 ppg), Darrion Trammell (18.1 ppg), and Riley Grigsby (13.9 ppg)) who are higher scorers than NMSU's second leading scorer Sir'Jabari Rice (12.0 ppg). Additionally, Seattle's role players are also producing at a higher rate than NMSU's role players. But with all the offense Seattle has, the two area where NMSU is strong is in rebounding and defensive field goal percentage. When NMSU isn't sleepwalking like at Sam Houston State, NMSU does have a formidable defense with the size and length to alter/disrupt shots.

Not sure what this has to do with Aggie attendance on Saturday. Furthermore, those 25 appearances came in several conferences and even independent seasons. In seasons where UNLV won a national championship. Against players like Larry Bird. In WAC 1.0 that is equal to the current MWC. Try to diminish what NMSU has done all you want. Those that know, know...

For the record. There were not 12,300 butts in the seats. Probably closer to 10,000.

It’s not to diminish what NMSU has done. It’s saying, that the rest of the WAC doesn’t have that, so “bragging” about your good attendance, should be expected with those kind of results. Being a basketball Independent in the 60s, is a lot different than being an Independent today.

There you are with the little jabs again. Saying you were not diminishing anything and then take several jabs. It's funny that you are all puffed up all of a sudden. Seattle finally has a sip of success in the WAC, the same WAC of the last 10 years with D2 move ups and D1 cast offs. You are a piece of work.
