As an Aside
I watched bits and pieces of Sam Houston/Montana State tonight.

The future of the Texas market in CUSA lost by 30...at home. Great pick by Judy.

It's okay because in the long game they'll poach Texas State away from us.

I don't think Sam Houston is a bad get, performance wise. But they netter have some deep pockets for NIL because their atmosphere and facilities are atrocious for an FBS team. Their coordinator was calling plays from an old church podium using a camping head lamp outside the box.

Their stadium reminds me of my high school field, and so does their attendance. Only difference is my high school was really bad at football.

The hilarity is that concept is being floated by UNT fans, who aren’t even in CUSA

If Texas State were to make that mistake there would be C-USA schools who would want their spot. I’m sure Tech would be calling. Our divisions are compact and our conference, thanks to ties with ESPN, is getting better brand recognition. We just need to a team to and for that team to win a NY6 bowl like the Peach or Cotton.

She was in a no win position, but she put herself there and drug CUSA with her. I have no sympathy for her. We served beyond our duty in that league, more than anyone else with UAB, Marshall, Rice and UTEP not far behind. We don’t have to have sympathy for Judy or CUSA.

I do feel for UTEP, though. They deserve much better than remaining in CUSA 4.0. At least the rest of us who’ve been there a long time have a way out.

CUSA will be the call up conference for a few more years. If there are any FCS schools wanting FBS, they just need to be on the phone with Judy and find out what boxes they need to check and get into the conference.

Please no Louisiana Tech. That fan base is toxic. They would join this message board and bring it down to their level.

Tech won't be calling the SunBelt as long as ULM is in the conference. They might call to see if the conference would be willing to replace us with them but they will not join any conference we are in.

You don't know what Tech will or will not do. Stop acting like you have some kind of insider knowledge about Tech athletics.

100 % Positive.
Otherwise, you would stop hiding behind the anonymity of a message board, and state your name and when you worked for Tech.

No hiding behind anything. You've never asked my name. Check your PMs

Soft Houston is gonna get absolutely embarrassed in FBS football, even more than they do every year in the playoffs aside from one fluke of a COVID spring season. No fans, terrible facilities, and now they don't even get to run through FCS cupcakes in conference before getting blown out as soon as they run in to someone decent in the playoffs.

Bad pick huh? You think conferences regret a pick based on how they do in one game???

This was a dumb take.

Given liberty’s purse strings that alone was a solid get.

NMSU has great basketball, solid athletic budget and gives UTEP a conference friend in the West (football is terrible but having some stability in a conference should help that out) all around not a terrible pick up

Jax state has a nice looking stadium and the other facilities I’ve seen look solid (they’ve been able to score some big time upsets and give a lot a scare) still unsure of their FBS potential

SHSU has traditionally competed well at the FCS much of their facilities appear old (most notably their stadium) I know there’s been a long desire to move up I’m curious if the aspirations will match the results)

It TXST makes a really bad move and jumps (Which won’t happen I don’t think), then grab WKU or Tech.

This was a dumb take.

How about how they do every year in the playoffs other than the spring season where NDSU/JMU had players sit out or leave so they could be ready for the draft?

2012: Sam Houston 13, NDSU 39
2013: Sam Houston 29, Southeastern Louisiana 30
2014: Sam Houston 3, NDSU 35
2015: Sam Houston 10, Jacksonville State 62
2016: Sam Houston 7, JMU 65
2017: Sam Houston 13, NDSU 55
2021: Sam Houston 19, Montana State 42

Id stop being a fan if we joined that slap conference. We might as well just go back to FCS if we were to do that
