Blake inherited some good players at Utah State. We will see where they are in 2-3 years after he has to try and recruit against not 1 but 2 P5 Utah schools.

Yeah he did. The top 3 players from the title game yesterday are all AState transfers...

I knew Bonner went but not others. Utah State will become Arkansas State eventually.

That said, certainly 100% in for the Herd and hope to pull the upset.

Confirmed now.

We currently have a ? at QB as Wells was injured in the 2nd quarter of our last game (we were up 14-0 at the time) and he did not return. There's been no official word on his injury or status. If he's available, we'll have a fun game... if he's not available, this will not be a fun game...

Hey Southern Miss... we're starting our SBC experience before you afterall! What's taking y'all so long to get here?

UTSA obviously wants no part of the Ragin' Cajuns. They pick a bowl against a good team but an inflated record and avoid the ranked team that had to earn their wins. Very disappointing but cusa may have also "highly recommended" it to avoid as much direct competition with the SBC as possible

Bonner was game MVP
Top defensive player yesterday was Justin Rice who was here last year.
Top receiver yesterday was Brandon Bowling who played here for 3 years before transferring.

It was extremely frustrating to watch...than be told by some our own "fans" we should be happy for him winning that game.

SBC teams are playing 2- CUSA teams and 2-MAC teams. That is what we usually do. Probably would have gotten AAC team if someone else had been eligible. Lol...every year some are disappointed there isn't a P5 school. Why would anyone expect that?

Don't think that was the case but will find out. Everyone was hinting battling BYU and taking Independence Bowl which is highest revenue bowl for CUSA. If anything, BYU should be nervous about UAB.

In a way, playing SDSU could be sweet revenge. They were ranked well ahead of most G5 schools all season. Got destroyed in conference championship and still remain ranked in CFP. Over a 12-1 Louisiana and UTSA

I like the bowl for Marshall but truly wish Louisiana would have a game against a ranked team. Now to try to juggle schedules and see if I can get there.

To be fair SDSU had to deal with stupid Covid issues. At least they didn’t back out.

Not disappointed at all. Marshall is a great program with a great history. We have a new Coach as of today and I am sure he will be working to prepare the team for the game. This should be a fun one!

BTW, the new head coach is Mike Desormeaux who was the C0Offenisve Coordinator and a former Cajun QB>

I really didn’t expect a game vs. a P5 or ranked team. This is actually an awesome matchup! Get to drive a couple hours with my beautiful wife for the night and watch a historical game vs. a future conference mate that happens to be a proud program with rich history! I’m looking forward to it!

Wells is off the concussion protocol. He should be available to play by the 18th.

Anyone that believes it is below Louisiana to play Marshall in a bowl game is bonkers. Sure, I would have loved playing another ranked opponent, it didn't happen.
This will not be a walk over, it'll be a slobber knocker between 2 good teams.
Things will change for our conference over the next year or so. We will be one of the best G-5's out there and there will be virtually NO difference bet. the MWC, AAC, and the Belt. Bowl alliances will change. Until then, we play the cards we are dealt and win the bowls we should.
Here's to the Belt kickin ssss
Here's to the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns
Here's to The Marshall Thundering Herd

May the best team win!

I don't believe it's "below" the cajuns to play Marshall. It's a good and interesting matchup. I was just hoping for UTSA. That's a game I would be more interested in just to see how real UTSA is.

Louisiana is ranked higher than SDSU in the CFP 25

It's not the program, it's that our champ plays a 5-3 team from a conference we overtook and now poach from.

Hopefully realignment will scramble the bowl tie-ins.
