We are ready to compete in our new Home SBC. I have not been this sure of the direction my beloved University has been headed in a very long time. As a matter of fact, I started believing that the administration had let our program die on the vine. We are itching to help make the fun belt a proper 1 G5 conference. This group has all the makings of as one Georgia Southern post put it " tough as nails southern conference.

We don’t love it, we just don’t %#^*+ about it like other fanbases. I think older Jag fans get peeved about it more than younger fans, stemming from a perceived slight from UAB radio announcers calling us South Al. For me, it doesn’t get under my skin quite like it does others. Now, not knowing how to pronounce “jag-wars” is another issue. “Jag-wires” sounds so dumb lol.

Not to get into a debate, but I think their own branding guide indicates UL is not to be used. I looked that up recently. I think Louisiana or Ragin’ Cajuns is their preferred nickname.

Since moving to FBS, Marshall has completely abandoned the "MU" abbreviation, and you never see Marshall fans use it. The Marshall brand guide says you should never use MU for Marshall...
