We'll probably see an instant transformation as soon as the move up happens. Either that, or they'll bow out before they actually move. Give it a few months. Sometimes they change course a few months after making a big decision I've noticed.

I thought they were supposed to have that much discussed, much anticipated FBS "study"completed in 2022. Since, according to the information their super fans provide, they moved before the "study," so maybe the "study" will suddenly reveal they are better off where they are? Flaky, flaky, flaky ...

You would not believe how many Sam fan's believe this. Even ones that know better. They say that they'll show up better when they "play better teams".

By better teams they mean Texas, A&M, Tech, etc. Nobody in Huntsville is showing up for Liberty when they wouldn't show up for Lamar.

You would not believe how many Sam fan's believe this. Even ones that know better. They say that they'll show up better when they "play better teams".

By better teams they mean Texas, A&M, Tech, etc. Nobody in Huntsville is showing up for Liberty when they wouldn't show up for Lamar.

Attendance for Liberty might actually be worse. Even as poor as Lamar football has been on average since the restart, there would still be a decent number of Lamar fans that would drive the two hours to Huntsville every other year. Can't see many making the trip from Lynchburg

Maybe not coming from Lynchburg, but Liberty has alums everywhere, and I'm sure there are many thousand in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Lynchburg may be too far to go for a football game, but some would gladly go anywhere in driving distance to see Liberty play, simply because its the closest Liberty game they have the chance to attend.

I get your point, but official attendance at the Lamar game (9,836 for a 12,593 capacity stadium) was the highest by over 2,000 at Bowers Stadium for the 2021 season.

In wasn't really referring to online students. I was just pointing out Liberty alums live all over the country, more so than most state schools, so they wouldn't necessarily be coming from Lynchburg strictly.

Unless SFA joins the TAMU system they are in no way any better shape to pay for this flyover league. I would say worse because they are a stand alone university competing for state money against other combined university systems.
