$95 million for this???
Ohio State making a statement. Absolutely housing MSU…42-0 2nd Quarter. Ryan Day asking…”if their coach is getting $95 million…how about me?” And this leads to more pay escalation for the big boys!

For that amount of money, they could give 1,600 students a free four-year ride.

For that amount of money they could have paid 1/4 of the schools Larry Nasser settlement to victims.

So w/ 2 Big 10 L's & one being to Ohio St, this should eliminate Sparty from the Big 10 & Playoff race, thank God. :)

RE: $95 million for this???
Ohio State exposed MSU for the frauds that they are. At halftime, it was 49-0 with OSU having 500+ yards.

OSU just has way more talent. Tucker seems like a decent coach, but he had a lot of close wins over bad B1G teams this year, and they lost to Purdue. Let's see how good they are without Kenneth Walker.

Can't believe how quickly MSU threw a truckload of money at Tucker.

There is/was no race. Ohio state is the only Nationally relevant program in the big10. MSU was number #7 and yet Their opponent was favored by 19.5 points. Lol.

I think it was mainly 2 billionaires who want to play fantasy football, they got a little excited after their Superbowl with UM.

That would require the state to actually fund Universities, which we as a society have decided is not important. FOOTBALL is though.

Give state credit. They are trying to keep a good coach. We just hire whoever is below our Head Coach and when they suck we say, at least they were cheap.

That's the offer. He should have signed it during the first half. They may rescind the offer after that game.

For that amount of money you'd think they would ask these two rich donors to throw in an extra $300k so they can get a real hockey coach.

Beating Jim Harbaugh in consecutive years makes you a demigod in East Lansing, apparently.

If you think Dantoni left the cupboard empty, he deserved the extension. This Sparty team was projected to finish bottom of the Big 10 & has been ranked Top 10 majority of the season.

I could see USC biting

Sounds like Tucker has not yet signed the contract. Rumor has it his first 3 words upon arriving back in East Lansing last night were…”Where’s my pen?”.

OSU will likely do the same thing to Harbaugh and M. Perhaps not such a big margin and M will probably get a few scores. But OSU is just on a different level than the rest of the conference. The Big Ten wasn't really very good this year and both MSU and M cleaned up (record - wise) on the weaker programs.

I believe that Tucker is a good recruiter and probably a good coach but even he knew that their secondary was just kindling for a big fire and there is no magic dust to make them better.

The donors just over-reacted by offering that huge pot of $$ before Tucker has really had a chance to prove how good he is as a HC. They saw 9 - 1 and believed all the hype without realizing how weak the Big Ten was (nationally) and having their team on the fringe of the CFP.

Time will tell and we'll see if he can deliver over the next few years.

How soon MSU's fanbase forgets that the expectations this year were nil and everyone knew Ohio State was going to have a legit squad. Spartans are playing with house money and I actually like them against Penn State next weekend, so 9-3 would absolutely be nothing to be mad about.

They also didn't want to be overbid by LSU and look like chumps that way. (see Nick Saban, 1999)

They're paying Tucker not for just what he's done but what they hope he will do if he stays.

After what couple of our donors did for Fleck we don't have room to criticize.
