6 at larges.
Any G4 champ in the (committee-based) top 25 gets an “at-large”.

Everybody happy now?

No auto bids, the top 6 conference champs regardless of affiliation and 6 at-large bids has by far been the fairest option presented to date. Naturally the PAC-12 are opposed since they're the weakest of the autonomy group.

Absolutely agree… and that’s why I don’t think it will ever happen. This whole thing has seemed really unfair for quite a while.

If the 6+6 model does go through, I think there’s a legit chance that one day a classical Power conference doesn’t get an Auti I’d because the American and another G5 qualify.

If the P5 conferences actually believed they are the best 5, then they wouldn’t oppose the 6+6. They would just agree to it and then beat our ass every year. The fact they are fighting tooth and nail to kill it makes me know they are scared.

So I agree with you that 6+6 is the fairest.

Just trying to move the needle on the attempt to compromise with the Pac12.

They want an auto bid.

Aresco opposes 5+1, rightfully so

But no other G4 opposes it.

So my P6+6 tries to grease all the squeaky wheels.

Maybe it’s just devils advocate, but if Pac12 gets an auto bid then why not AAC?

We don’t have to go down the 10 champs rabbit hole.

Just draw the line somewhere, and my proposal should make at least five of the P6 happy. Unsure how SEC would feel about putting one of “their” 6 at large bids on the table for a G4 in some years. It still goes thru the committee so a team like Liberty or Coastal at 12-1 but borderline AP would probably not get the committee blessing.
Louisiana at 13-0 and ranked 17th is in though, even without a good SoS

Also I like the “GI Bill”
Top two from Group-5 champs/top Indy.

Not as much at 6+6

But this one might have legs as a compromise.

Lots of other good proposals in this thread.

Hope Aresco and the rest of the folks are reading this thread!!!
