What if these 13 voted based on what their constituents wanted? Are they supposed to ignore that simply to "own the libs"?

If they were voting the way the constituents wanted, they wouldnt be deciding not to run in 2022.

The squad didn’t vote for it. Were they trying to own the libs?

Im sure you’ll say there are different reasons why they didn’t though

Maybe the ones who have looked at the polling? The bipartisan infrastructure plan which just passed polls quite well -

https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show...s-n1280250

You may not want to read the entire article, the part which links to polling from various groups (including Fox) is about midway down.

Negative points for having a different opinion, nice. Found this appropriate comment given to you with negative points back in 2008, I see the Big Tiger hasn't changed his stripes -

"Gives nonsensical negatives to those who post differing opinions."

Sadly this is the state of this board now. You messed up by disturbing their echo chamber.

Unfortunately appears you are correct! Thin skins, just like their leader.

Well we know why they didn't. They want some incredulous number like 10 trillion

Those are national numbers. Maybe the bill polls better in those local districts. Maybe they think their untouchable?

I agree with you fsquid, and think politicians on BOTH sides of the aisle holding out like that for THEIR VERSION of the "perfect" bill is the problem...things get done in the center, both sides should get some of what they want and neither side should get all of what they want. It also helps to water down the extreme policies of those on the far left or far right. That process happened with the BIF which just passed but is exceedingly rare these days!

and There’s lots of reasons to oppose this build that has nothing to do with owing the libs, Rino or no Rino

I see the problem slightly differently. Republicans don't have a version, so they just end up arguing for spending less on the democrat version. And that's not a winning proposition.
