Excellent news. I doubt the CAA punishes some guys for leaving the bench and helping break things up.
In related news. It seems a bunch of JMU fans are still on their board crying about this thanks to their beat writer who doesn’t know his arse from his elbow. He keeps claiming JMU should’ve had technical foul shots for the players who left the bench and the fan (Shy’s brother) who got on the court. In no way do I condone what Shy’s brother did, but he was ejected from Trask immediately.
The rules allow for refs to give a TF to a team’s bench and shots to the other team, but they can also rescind that if the fan is ejected and removed from the arena. JMU fans are saying there was a 2nd fan on the floor, but it seems they watch too many episodes of Ghost Hunters, because there’s no evidence of that. They’re also saying they should’ve gotten TF for our players who left the bench (they’re claiming 5, but it was only 3). Again, no TF are issued if the players are ejected from the game, which is what happened.
The most entertaining part of this is how they’re whining about it in multiple threads and their fans are all still mad at the CAA member schools who voted to not allow their teams to compete for tournament championships. It seems absolutely NONE of them realize that JMU casts those exact same votes for years against every other school who left the conference.
If and when we ever leave this disaster of a conference, I expect we and our athletes would be receiving of the same treatment/votes, and due to the way we have always voted… that is fair. I really don’t understand JMU fans. Seem to be the most delusional fan base in America.
