All I know is that fake punt took some ego. Not a lot of teams that would run that play in that situation.

Glad to see Gill out mixing it up at SBC conference games. Hopefully he makes it out to everyone's venue at least once a season. KG really seems to be embracing his role and my perception of him has changed over the past couple of seasons.

How many players for CCU were recruited in 2015 (your last FCS class)?

Any Super Senior I'd imagine? 2016 would be a wash because recruits wouldn't know exactly what Coastal may become. App is getting recruits now that they wouldn't have sniffed 3 years ago; you know that better than anyone.

Most of our super seniors were the last FCS class recruited!

There are four players on your two deep from the 2016 class (first FBS class), none from the 2015 class.
2016 was basically an FCS class. We didn't announce FBS / Sun Belt until September 2015, recruiting for the 2016 class was basically done by that point.

Signing day was February 2016, I'm sure you guys recruited using the FBS moniker for that class. I know App did their first FBS class.
Not really the point though. You aren't playing with FCS recruits in 2021 and to make that claim is an exaggeration. You have stepped up recruiting from 2018 onward and it's showing.

Well if Coastal has already made that bed then I suppose we should lay in it. It's always been Chants vs Everybody anyways. We'll continue pushing the league forward.

I have no problems with the Chants besides last year's chance at redemption. I'm glad to have the Chants in the conference.

The SBC has came a longgg way. That's something all members has had a hand in some way or fashion. Therefore, everyone here is a valuable member to this league

Ok ok, this has gone on far enough. This game is over and this thread has become a big argument. There have been around a dozen reported posts from this thread. There were 9 posts that were unapproved in this thread. There were additional reports so I just split 62 other posts into a new thread on the Smack Board. Some posts that got moved can be considered collateral damage. If you want to continue the smack, go there. Otherwise, only post insight about the game on this thread. Smack will be removed.

If they expand the playoffs with G5 inclusion any time soon, this dude ain't leaving. He'll be making 2 Mill+ plus base soon with a better chance to go to the playoff then some random P5 outside the elite group. Easy decision.
LOL, if he is worth being paid by CCU 2M, which I don't think you can pay especially "BASE", he is worth 3-5M at a decent P5. You and UL are just on borrowed time. If a mid-level or better P5 wants your coach they getting your coach. Chadwell running a unique option offense may keep some P5's away. If I am a mid-level P5 struggling I am backing up the cash truck. I have no idea how G5 fan bases really convince themselves their coach will not leave or think their coach really turned down a 1-3M pay raise. It is the most insane fanatic delusional thing I see on message boards. Satterfield was a player, asst coach and long resident of Boone with deep ties in the community and he did not blink taking a mid level P5 job with little to no hope of ever winning an NC.
Told App fans they did not want to believe with Satt then told CCU it's 99.9% of the time about the money. Helton goes 10-2 next year he is probably going to some mediocre ACC team.
Stop fantasizing about a good coach staying more than three to four years. Until you can pay well over 2M you are going to lose your coach period. It is the weirdest fanatic belief I constantly come across on this board.

Neal Brown had it made too. Had a house very nice house, had a car bought for him, had free memberships to a couple of different country clubs, had a golf tournament named after him... still doesn't matter.
I do wonder if coaches like Brown and Satterfield ever wish they had stayed at Troy or App State. They were living the high life at those places. Now they're probably very stressed with their situations.

RE: Troy at Coastal – TONIGHT – 6:30 CST / ESPN2
I lived in Statesboro for almost 20 years. I love the school, a ton of my best friends were there, I had a cool job and the cost/pace of life was ideal for me.
NW Metro Atlanta has much less charm (unless you go into city squares to partake in super local and expensive and mostly stupid shops and festivals) and life often feels like more of a crisis due to the faster pace and less reliable traffic patterns. But when I got a job that basically doubled my salary and my wife found a job that immediately doubled hers - with the chance to grow much more - it was a conversation that didn't even last for a weekend before we decided to move.
I love Statesboro. Maybe I'll move back someday. Until then, our new jobs pay for as many weekend trips back as we want.
