For travel, teams could easily fly into Richmond and have under 2 hours to Harrisonburg or Norfolk.
It also opens up fertile new recruiting grounds to SBC schools.
ODU also has a lot of alumni in the Richmond area. Additionally, teams can easily fly in and out of Norfolk International Airport which is only a 15-20 minute drive from the ODU campus.
College teams from all over the country recruit the talent rich Hampton Roads (Chesapeake/Norfolk/Hampton/Newport News/Portsmouth/Suffolk/VA Beach) area for high school baseball, basketball, and football players. Names like Alan Iverson, Alonzo Mourning, Bruce Smith, Michael Vick, David Wright, Michael Cuddyer, Brandon Lowe, and Justin Upton (for example) all played high school sports in the Hampton Roads area of VA.

Easy. WKU left the Sunbelt and has refused to schedule SBC schools in any sport since leaving. We don't need friends like that.
We actually go to them next season. But, as far as I'm concerned, we can continue not being conference mates.

Championship pedigree? WKU has 8 more CUSA championships than the next closest conference member since we joined. Back to back CUSA football champs in 15 and 16 and would instantly be the basketball flagship of the belt, just as we were when we left. But go off.

If this all goes down and I hope it does…….They should make a documentary about the decisions over the years by WKU, MTSU and La Tech.

Not so fast Son. ODU is 9-6 against WKU in CUSA men's basketball, including 2-1 in CUSA Tournament games. ODU also has more conference wins overall in CUSA men's basketball than WKU does since joining CUSA.

I like WKU and they’re really the only team I’ll miss playing. But yeah, nah.

KSHD is Shenandoah Valley Airport in Staunton right? Can it handle planes big enough to carry a whole football team? When it has its off and on commercial service, I think the airlines usually fly props into there. Could be wrong of course. Charlottesville airport is another option.

I was responding to this as an either or scenario with WKU/ODU. Obviously the addition of both of us would improve SBC basketball 10 fold. But I would assume our former belt brothers don't want us back because we dominated them for years.

JMU usually charters out of KSHD which is in Weyers Cave, less than 10 miles from the city of Harrisonburg. 6000 ft runway and can accomodate A320s and most other narrow body aircraft.

Lol...yeah that's why. Not because you said you are staying then a couple days later left. Or that you then ignored the conference. But no...its because the SBC is scared....lol.
