Is it truly dead though? If Marshall and USM goes to the SBC that is still six teams left. Still need at three more schools to leave in order to disband the conference.

I genuinely hope Southern Miss is added to the Sun Belt. They deserve a spot somewhere, not left out in the cold.

No I am not. Folks here need to be grateful that CUSA did not kick UAB out of the conference. No one here should want to see the conference disband leaving programs like FIU and UTEP with no place to go. It's a dickhead comment and totally lacks class.

Be happy UAB is getting away from Judy and leave it at that.

All 3 of those were already established brands, you know that……

C-USA’s future now rest with Southern Miss and Marshall. If they hold, C-USA probably rebuilds fairly well. If they go to the Sun Belt, future gets much tougher for those left.

1. I'll give you this. CUSA was praised for not kicking UAB out of the conference. But lets be clear, whenever the Return is discussed CUSA is not mentioned.

2. Someone had to bid on it. It was so financially successful CUSA moved it to a hanger in Dallas.

3. Many here hated Brain Mackin and felt he didn't do enough to keep the football program from shutting down.

Our basketball program has sucked for the last 7 years until Kennedy's arrival and football hasn't beating anyone that would garner national media exposure. Can't live off the Return forever although some here will do just that.

There are some good replacement options for CUSA with Liberty and James Madison.

UTEP and FIU will be on islands, but travel would be pretty good for the central Atlantic teams.
