O'Brien Injured
Blade:

... O’Brien, 68, was mowing his lawn early in the evening. He popped into his house, then, as he came back out through the garage, he said, “just for a brief, brief second, it was like I blacked out.” O’Brien never lost consciousness, but, as he buckled to the ground, he rolled his ankles in the most disagreeable way possible.

Despite his protests, his wife, Michelle, called for an ambulance, which took off for St. Anne Hospital. Doctors ruled out a cardiac event — O’Brien suspects he was dehydrated — but X-rays showed both ankles were broken...

Hopefully they don't brave out that "blackout." How do you fall in such a way that both ankles twist and break? That seems to me everything losing the ability to work and the weight coming straight down, like the towers. And no stroke to account for it? Muscles and nerves just quitting?

I've had heat stroke to the point of losing vision briefly but never realized it could cause such a complete shut-down. Scary.

Hope he gets well soonest. Kind of weird not seeing him at the pavillion entrance.

Lord knows he can afford to with how many years he has been pulling in $350,000+ 03-lmfao. Here's to a speedy recovery, that can't be fun...wonder if he's going double boot or just rolling around on a scooter for awhile.

He's probably one of the few people to actually mow his own grass in his neighborhood.

Whoa, reading the injury headline followed in close order ‘mowing the lawn’, I pictured something gruesome, aka the Sappranos. Breaking both ankles seems like stair steps or at least one step were involved. Doesn’t sound like something he should have even thought about “walking off.”

Thank you Michelle for taking control and getting medical attention. He needs those ankles strengthen when you take him up and down Canyon Road! ;-)

RE: O'Brien Injured
heat stroke is serious business, also unexpected black out even if for just a second, and then falling, especially when older can result in some pretty serious injuries including broken bones, MOB is lucky as that type of fall could have been much worse, extending him best wishes in his recovery
