I predict that the Greenwave will be one of the CUSA bowl alliances.

I would like to see us in the 2nd annual New Orleans Bowl. <img border="0" alt="[Cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/cheers.gif" />

I think I'll make my prediction about that on Jan. 2nd.

UAB has been a thorn in Tulane's side and that's the main thing I'm thinking about right now.

I think they've burned Tulane before with the running game and that's something this team simply has to defend well for there to be much chance of getting a win.

I'd like to see this team run the ball better but they just don't. The size and physical power to run over teams just doesn't look like it's there.

Now Tulane gets to deal with Navy's option attack, only the 4th best rushing team in the country.

This is NO time for a let-down.

Will anyone ever forget the scare Army and its option attack gave the 1998 team? Or how Navy went wild the last time the game was in N.O.?

The deal is that that kind of offense really negates Tulane's strengths on defense. Tulane's good pass rush won't mean much against a team who'll run it every single down. Defenders have got get off the blocks, stay with their assignments, make the open field tackles and be extra smart.

If fans are expecting some blowout win, they may be in for a surprise. Navy's NOT going to roll over. I trust everyone realizes that. I just hope that all the fan hoopla doesn't carry over to the team.

I believe that you are being very pessimestic about this team.

Perhaps your confidence is not where it should be. Navy is one of the worst teams in Division 1-A, if Tulane falls to this team, then there is no hope.

Tulane will prevail and in a big way.

Lighten up and enjoy, just look back where we have been. :)

Navy has lost some games but I don't see how that in itself points to a blowout win for Tulane.

My prediction is that if Navy keeps its mistakes to a minimum this could well be a very close game.

They'll probably be able to move the ball very well against Tulane. The only team who's really stopped them was Rice, who themselves run the option and practice against it. Navy has the rushed the ball extremely well all year on everyone, including some very good teams like Air Force and Boston College, except Rice. Their current head coach was their offensive coordinator when they had a couple of bowl teams in the 1990's, so this is someone who's no slouch.

Tulane needs very much to execute, play with more consistency on offense and score in multi-play drives that also keep Navy off the field. If Tulane mounts only 2 or 3 quick scoring drives but otherwise can't get a first down that will play right into Navy's hands.

I'm hoping as much as I can that with all the fan hoopla the team hasn't lost focus. There's still a game to be played and an opponent who's going to come to play and make Tulane have to really earn this one.

You are correct, this is no time for the team to not be focused on the job at hand.

We can rehash the Navy game next week.

BTW, I saw on TV last night that they are spruceing up Tad Gormley, including placing numbers on the seatsin each section.

Where is everybody?... even our Moderator looks like he has deserted us.
