How can we play like world beaters vs. ND and mail it in vs. CSU? If losing a football game is the worst thing that happens to us, then we have no problems. Having said that, I am done analyzing our losses. I'm not a fair weather fan and I'll still support UT, but, I might not go to the games the rest of the year. I might not be alone in my thoughts.

I know how you feel. I go into every season with optimism. Like everyone else had my expectations raised by the ND performance. I pencil in every home game with the expectation I'll be there with my season tickets. If we get on the verge of winning the west, then I start to think about a road trip or two.

With a bad loss like this my love for the team doesn't diminish, but now with jam packed weekends, my plan B activities start to look better and better. I hope this was a one game let down.

You can only go up from that horrible offensive performance. It was incredible how it was bad, then just got worse and worse. Then when we needed to make a play, it just kept snowballing with penalties and turnovers. I wasn't at the BG game a few yrs ago when they upset us, but it sounded like a similar scenario. We couldn't get out of our way.

RE: Free tickets
I guess I should consider myself lucky that for me the game is maybe half the experience, if that. I really enjoy the atmosphere, being on campus, looking at the nice sidewalks....

I almost didn't get in the car and go to the ND game, thinking all the wrong things. It was going to be a loss. LONG azz drive. Turnpike fees. I almost talked myself out of a memorable time not just at the game but exploring South Bend and their campus, meeting some nice and interesting people, seeing some friends....

I will succeed on occasion on game days, talking myself out of going. And I'm always wrong for doing so. If the day/evening is nice, campus is better than any park, better than watching on TV. The views up in the stands spectacular. I appreciate the effort on the field because I have some respect for what a student-athlete's day is like. I do eat better at home. That's not a compliment to my cooking.

RE: Free tickets
The on-campus experience is great, is often best at start of season and also homecoming, but a few home games in that's less of a factor me compared to seeing a team compete. CSU game was a disaster and if that keeps up no amount of game day experience is going to continue to draw me and many other fans. Its one think to support a team making effort and over performing expectations, but getting beat by better teams-that is not the case with this team in fact complete opposite, mistakes of their own making and falling far short of how this team should be playing. If CSU game was the rare outlier and team returned to what we all saw at ND than great, but if not the case I can't be critical of any fans giving up on the season.

Since I started this thread I might as well continue to chime in. I don't generally pay attention to the participation stats, but, I don't believe we are using or utilizing any of our transfers. We must lead the league in former P5 transfers. If our offense is so lethargic, why don't we take advantage of our talent? The only transfer that I remember seeing on the field is Culpepper and he's on defense.

GO ROCKETS!!!

That's a good point to which I don't know the answer. I posed on another similar thread whether transfers in are better than the transfers out. Might not be the case and the players that remained for extra year have a lot more development than a transfer that was standing on the sidelines at a P5. Could be they're all potential at this point. I imagne practice is better for all with the extra talent in-house.

GO ROCKETS!!!

Cavon Butler - Kentucky, played in all 4 games. Has 9 tackles
Judge Culpeper - Penn St, played in all 4 games, 19 tackles
Johnathan Jones - Notre Dame, played in all 4 games, 22 tackles
Matt Landers - Georgia, 3 games, 1 rec
Ronald Delancey - Nebraska, played in 3 games, 3 tackles
Chris Redman - Miss St (was a walk-on there, played in total of 3 games in 4 yrs) - 0 games 2020, 2021 (saw him in street clothes vs. Ball St)
Tucker Gleason - Georgie Tech, 0 games played (backup QB)

So the only 2 P5 transfers to not play are a backup QB and a guy who was a walk-on at Miss St.

Gleason also got in briefly in garbage time against Norfolk St. He completed 1 pass. Also, don't forget Koback, Winstead and Gurman are transfers (although the latter two not from P5). Also Mills our LS who transferred from Illinois.

Thank you for the stats in terms of transfers' participation Midnight Blue and Gold. I had no idea. I'm glad they are getting a chance to play and contribute.

O yea, I forgot that Gleason got in against Norfolk St.

I didn't include Koback since everyone knows he plays.

I consider him less a transfer and more a "ran out of gas on the way home from Florida vacation." What college kid hasn't been there, had to make a little cash to finish the trip?
