You think Mewelde Moore will break into the Doak Walker running?

I think if he has another 1,000 yard season he should be a finalist for the Doak Walker award.

He and Derrick Nix are the candidates from C-USA on the list, right?

Moore had 1421 last year and also led Tulane in recieving. He was third in the nation with total yards for game. He should be better this year. I think he'll contend if the voters aren't biased towards BCS schools.

overcoming that BCS bias is huge.

Chris Redman found that out when he was the NCAA's 2nd alltime in passing yardage, attempts, touchdowns, etc and didn't even consideration to get an invitation to the Heisman dinner.

What about Shaun King? He shattered Danny Wuerffel's NCAA record for passing efficieny in 1998, was on the #7 team in the nation, passed for 3400 yards 36 TD's and 6 INT's while also running for 500 yards but hardly got any mention for the Heisman.

I couldn't believe some of the great decisions he made with the ball that year.

Louisville gave you guys one heck of a scare in New Orleans that year didn't we?

yes y'all did. I was there it was the week after an emotional win over Southern Miss and I think Tulane thought they would roll over UL like they did in '97 (68-33). I was very impressed with Redman that day and relieved that we walked away from the Dome with a win.

Moore definitely deserves to be mentioned at least. He and the kid out at Nevada (Chance Kretschmer) are 2 incredible runningbacks that most people have never heard about.
