-Alan Ali a OL from SMU - 39 starts on the OL for SMU in his time there
-Jared Wiley a TE from Texas - played in 5 games for UT last year, caught 9 balls for 2 TDs including a TD against Oklahoma in the Red River Shootout
-Emani Bailey a RB from Louisiana - 642 yards on 102 attempt for ULL last year with 8 TDs
-Mark Perry a S from Colorado - 66 tackles and 3 INTs for the Buffalos last year
Dykes has also received verbals from a couple of JUCO defensive players
- Nambi Obiazor a S from Iowa Western CC
- Douglas Blue-Eli a NT/DT from Monroe College (i'm guessing with the switch to a 3-3-5 that this is much needed depth in the center of that DL).
Nice! Dykes always loved using the portal when he was at SMU as well.

Yay!!!! Way to get only one player from our team. Dykes gave your AD a list of 8 players he would get and he only got 1 to leave.
You also didn’t mention how many transfers he has completely whiffed on

Well I don't have any context on how many transfers Dykes has completely whiffed on because I have no idea what all transfers TCU went after this offseason with Dykes.
Just like recruiting out of high school, the vast majority of coaches offer way more players than end up committing, so technically everyone whiffs a lot. Same with developing players, everyone whiffs on guys.
To follow up UCF's highest rated HS Recruiting Class from Dec, here is how UCF's Transfer Portal Class looks now after adding the 4 Star DT hunter Lee from Auburn this past weekend: Years of eligibility listed
DB Koby Perry (Austin Peay): 1 year (FCS All-American, the Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year)
OT Ryan Swoboda (Virginia): 1 year (Multi-year starter at OT for UVA)
TE Kemore Gamble (Florida): 1 year (Starting TE for UF who had 34 catches, 414 yds and 4 TDs last season) OT Tylan Grable (Jacksonville State): 2 years (2nd Team FCS All-American)
QB John Rhys Plumlee (Ole Miss): 2 years (ran for 1,023 yds in just 9 games as a true freshmen)
LB K.D. McDaniel (Kentucky): 3 years (had 13 tackles this past season in a back-up role)
WR Kobe Hudson (Auburn): 3 years (4 Star Recruit. Auburn's#1 WR this past season with 44 catches for 580 yds and 4 TDs. Recruited by Gus)
LB Terrence Lewis (Maryland): 4 years (5 Star Recruit, sat out last year recovering from injury)
DT Lee Hunter (Auburn): 4 years (4 Star Recruit, sat out last season, recruited by Gus)
Those in bold should see Big 12 action starting in 2023.
I like that 6 out of the 9 players have multiple years left with 4 players with at least 3 years of eligibility to use.

Baylor lands class of 2022 4 star safety Alfonzo Allen from Florida! The former Arizona State commit had offers from almost everyone in the country and chose the Bears. Great pickup!

This commit won't generate much fanfare, but remember this name. I cover high school sports in the Abilene area, and this is the best high school receiver I've covered in my almost 15 years out here -- topping a list that includes James Washington and Jaxon Shipley.
His performance in the Class 4A Division I state title game was the best individual effort I've ever witnessed in any game, much less a championship game.
Coy was criminally underrecruited until that state title game performance, but he ended up with Power 5 offers from Washington State, TCU and Tech. Joey McGuire got him a good one here.

Even with technology nowadays, there are still a lot of underrecruited gems out there. Looks like Tech got one!

In 16 games this season, he had 93 catches for 2,140 yards and 31 touchdowns while adding 213 yards and four more scores rushing.
In the state title game, he had nine catches for 187 yards and three touchdowns (all on outstanding individual efforts), 28 yards and a rushing touchdown and an interception on defense. And then this play, which may have been his most impressive in a long list of impressive plays.

This is what great college recruiting is about. Finding that diamond in the rough.
