Neither makes the other stupid. Both are valid for their positions of fans being fans for their teams.

The vast majority of your fans think app is a d2 scrub.

So I think shockingly stupid fits.

Ok friend I am going to try one more time. I graduated from App State in 1975, which makes me on one level an old fart. I am a fan of App State and root for them. I also root for Miami as I lived in South Florida during their heyday. Flippant comments are reactive rather than substantive. If you want to diagnose the game that's one direction. If one wants to sling zingers that's another "more shockingly stupid" way to comment. One has merit. The other shallow and most often a youthful, inexperienced expression.

I was also there in '75 and if Joe Parker is the only name you remember you weren't much of a fan. That was a watershed year in App history and all those guys were super stars. An App grad referring to Miami - or any other school - as "us" and supporting them over App is truly nauseating.
Ouch. Are you always so happy and pleasant or did I catch you on a good day. Sorry to hear about your nausea. I hope you got out of wrong side of the bed today and this is not usual behavior. It is a stretch for me to believe you are my age with this immature response. Were you a student there in '75, which you omitted from your reply.

Just give it break pal. A personal attack on an alum who you judge fails to meet your fan standards, well it's pretty petty. Is this truly a good use of your time? For the nausea, try some Pepto Bismol. Or don't get so fired up, with heart beat pumping, blood pressure raising anger. You'll live longer. Especially at your and my age.

Not much on reading comprehension are we? The first line of my post clearly says I was there in '75. Graduated in '77. Thank you for your concern about my health but I have no anger issues or problems with blood pressure. As a matter of fact I'm most always pleasant and fun to be around. The nausea issues only hit me when I encounter an App alum who disrespects his Alma mater by openly cheering for an opposing team and indicating he is a fan of schools other than his. Don't like the personal attack? Too bad. Deal with it. Call it petty if you wish, but I have real issues with people like you. I've fought for 40 years to make App relevant and when I come across people like you who would rather jump on a bandwagon and beat their chest over a "name" school than help build up their own I get a tad ill. So you "root" for App when we aren't playing one of your favorite teams. That's nice. Please go away and don't tell anyone you attended App. Especially when wearing your Miami shirt, cap, orange & green sunglasses, fake chains and jewelry.

Either way they are certainly removed from reality.
So does that mean that Miami is doomed to status quo and cannot have another good run? I think not. And as long as G5 teams are G5 teams, they will always be the second sister. Does App have a higher upside over Miami? No. Can App continue to develop and one day become a P5 and increase their upside. Sure.

I do not suffer any App State grad who pulls for other teams over her. So, if you’re wondering why your reception here is colder than icy, I have your answer.

Say, did you once know a J. Cline?

Nice one! 04-cheers

Most of them think that App is still FCS, some how. ESPN's messaging campaign of G5 v. P5 and the alleged gulf that exists, despite evidence to the contrary, has been successful.

A shockingly stupid fanbase. Easily the worst I’ve come across. I’m not sure what caused that, but wow they combine ignorance with blind confidence like no other fanbase I’ve encountered.

Makes me realize how special fanbases like Penn State are, who still have a pretty strong relationship with our fanbase after that OT matchup a couple years back.

Theres exceptions to every rule. We all know there are level headed, reasonable Miami fans somewhere. You sound like one of them, although your holier than thou attitude to what is ostensibly your alma mater is somewhat irksome.

But you have to admit there is large swaths of the Miami fanbase that has big time "peaked in high school" energy. Their ignorance in the age of the internet is galling.

There is no clearer contrast to the Penn State fanbase. We sat in a PSU section with PSU grad family. Several long time season ticket holders came up and discussed our program and were clearly worried about the outcome of the game (their fears were warranted). We also got stopped several times on the way out by well wishers, while that was condescending, they all meant well.

This is how me and other stAte fans feel about mentally defective stAte alumni that worship pig dung. It is very disgusting how they can debase themselves!!

Extremely disgusting. We used to deal with it lot , but things began to turn after the NC 's and esp the Michigan win. Don't see that much any more, but you still have a segment who seem to get their self esteem by associating with the in crowd.

I mean, I went to ECU...

But I grew up 35 minutes from Boone, didn't miss and App home game for four years. Went to the halloween game against Wofford, my Senior year of high school, by myself after some friends backed out.

That said, I don't know how anyone from App or ECU could be a UNC fan.
