If the B12 is smart
They will add no teams. Make OU and UT and ESPN pay them all they owe them then either break up or add teams. Probably going to be the last big payday some of them see.

It is a double-edged sword. That would be the best move to collect the most money left from their P5 payout + exit fees from Texas and Oklahoma. I bet Bowlsby would like to sit on his butt, collect a paycheck for 4 years and then retire.
I think it would make for an even bigger PR nightmare than it is now and really drive down their value even more as a conference.
I really feel that if you put a Texas and Oklahoma-less Big12 on Fox in the middle of the Midwest for 4 years the current AAC would surpass it due to our exposure and markets.

I think the Little 8’s football recruiting would take a big nose dive.

Also what's going to happen when in those 4 years they have no one even close to the CFP and barely anyone ranked because they don't have any big games in conference anymore? They going to to go into media negotiations without OU and UT and 3-4 years of poor on field importance.

I think these UAB and UNT posters (among others) are itching to audition for an AAC spot.

Spot on.
See what happens if OU and UT finish 1-2 this year and the ratings for the remaining 8 take a nose dive. Let's see if ISU can actually beat Iowa for the first time in Campbell's career or if Texas Tech can actually close out games and do so with their team being completely overhauled due to sucking.
Meanwhile, Cincy, UCF, Memphis and SMU reach their potential and play in major games on national TV.
*Poof*
The remaining 8's leverage is gone.
And as far as the 'big payday' is concerned...it's more complicated than that:
http://www2.kusports.com/weblogs/tale-ta...e-the-big/
Long story short, they might see $15M per school, which might not even cover the losses they will incur after one year on the new TV contract. It ain't gonna be impressive....
Don't envy the decision they have. From the AAC's perspective, I hope they don't bring anybody aboard this year - the future is with us.

I don't think so.
In what sense?

I just think they are worth what they are worth, today and in 2025. None of them are going to be football bluebloods by then. Unless another of the 4 remaining conferences call I just don't see their negotiating position being any different.
