The Painter Act
Quote:Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) introduced legislation meant to promote financial transparency within President Biden and Vice President Harris’ immediate families — especially in reaction to Hunter Biden’s new art career.

The Preventing Anonymous Income by Necessitating Transparency of Executive Relatives (PAINTER) Act — introduced on Wednesday morning — would “require the President and Vice President of the United States to report the same financial disclosure information of their non-dependent children as currently required for their spouse and dependent children under Section 102(e) of the Ethics in Government Act,” according to a press release from Waltz’s office.

Under the legislation, Biden and Harris would need to report the following information for their non-dependent children:

The source and type of earned income exceeding $1,000;

The source and amount of any honoraria received aggregating more than $200;

The source and type of income from dividends, rents, interest, and capital gains exceeding $200 and the value of the amount;

The source, description, and value of any gifts received due solely, or in part, to the non-dependent child’s relationship with the President or Vice President; and

The source, description, and value of any reimbursements received due solely, or in part, to the non-dependent child’s relationship with the President or Vice President.

“Under this administration, we have witnessed shameless attempts to profit off Joe Biden’s presidency that jeopardize the integrity of the White House,” commented Waltz in the release. “Despite the Biden Administration’s silence on this issue, American citizens have a right to know who is attempting to purchase access to the White House through an ‘artist,’ Hunter Biden, with no established credentials to warrant such enormous profits.”

As referenced by Waltz, the bill emerges after Hunter Biden — the son of President Joe Biden — announced a surprise foray into the art world. Through small, private showings in Los Angeles and New York, Hunter Biden is expected to sell artwork for up to $500,000 apiece.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki informed reporters that the identities of the buyers would remain unknown to the public.

“Of course, he has the right to pursue an artistic career, just like any child of a president has the right to pursue a career,” she said earlier in July. “But all interactions regarding the selling of art and the setting of prices will be handled by a professional gallerist, adhering to the highest industry standards. And any offer out of the normal course would be rejected out of hand and the galleries will not share information about buyers or prospective buyers, including their identities with Hunter Biden or the administration, which provides quite a level of protection and transparency.”

Ehhh.. I'm not a fan of this one. I get why, but I can see Congressmen taking this to an extreme for any son/daughter that is business oriented, or making money in a legitimate side business.

It's a double edged sword. On one hand, I get the intent as it helps prevent the pay for play access to Mr. Pedo himself that is going on here, but on the other hand this could also be used as a weapon against political opponents.

last time I checked, the congressional ethics committee was formed for those specifics…

Congress and ethics, there's an oxymoron for you. Too many swamp critters on both sides of the aisle to trust an unbiased congressional ethics committee investigation. I'd trust the FBI to actually release credible details on Hunter's laptop before they start hammering their own for major ethics violations such as Hunter selling his "art" for access to the Big Man.

Media Freaks Out Over Jared Kushner’s New Firm, But Could Not Care Less About Hunter Biden’s Questionable Art Career

Quote:The corporate media is freaking out because Jared Kushner, the son-in-law and top adviser to former President Donald Trump, is planning on launching an investment firm in the coming months.

The revelation came from an unnamed source who provided no details about potential investors. Despite the lack of information, countless members of the corporate media, like former Obama advisor and MSNBC contributor Ben Rhodes and Daily Beast and NBC News columnist Max Burns, are suggesting that Kushner’s new investment firm will result in unethical partnerships in Saudi Arabia and the United Emirates. Apparently helping to broker peace deals between the US and Middle Eastern countries has raised the left-wing media’s suspicions.

Many corporate news outlets are suddenly very interested in Kushner’s new firm and jumping to conclusions about how his former White Houe position stands to benefit him financially, yet practically yawn at any news of the current president’s son doing the same. Indeed, it has recently been revealed that Hunter Biden is now a renowned artist, reportedly selling paintings for half $1 million dollars each.

Outlets like Reuters, The Hill, and The Guardian have not appeared to pursue the Hunter Biden news further than a general human interest story, and a search of The Guardian’s website shows they have yet to report on it at all.

Supposedly taking a break from monetizing foreign companies’ access to his father, Hunter has decided to focus his attention on painting. “For years I wouldn’t call myself an artist,” he told The New York Times, from his Los Angeles home and studio. “Now I feel comfortable saying it.”

Of course, It is obvious that Hunter’s art career is nothing more than a front for his “old” career, selling access to his dad.

“It’s the same career Hunter had before,” writes The Federalist’s Eddie Scary, “but this time instead of pretending he knows anything about the energy industry in Eastern Europe or finance in China, he gets to mix primary colors and call access to the highest levels of government ‘art.’ There is nothing remotely innocent about Biden’s ‘new career.’

To understand the media’s vastly differing reactions to these two stories, let’s explore the differences. Kushner is the son-in-law of the former president of the United States who has been stripped of a voice and kicked off of all the main social media platforms. Hunter is the son of the current president of the United States and the most powerful man on earth.

Before Trump was elected, Kushner was already a businessman who owns, among other businesses and investments, Cadre, an online real-estate investment platform. Hunter, on the other hand, has never been an artist (until now), and yet, at the beginning of his career, is selling, according to art critics, amateur work for prices comparable to only the most well-known artists.

Why then, is the media devoting its attention to Kushner and not Hunter? Because they have given up on any semblance of integrity and will do anything to help the Biden Administration, even if it means ignoring Hunter Biden entirely.

From multiple instances of racism, to his illegal gun purchase, and his many foreign business dealings selling access to his father, the corporate media has always turned a blind eye because they are not journalists, they are corrupt political moguls. The corporate media has decided it is more important for them to protect and defend, not the freedom of information, but a senile president and his corrupt son.
