Could the city have its Home Rule Charter revoked if it does not comply with the minimum-police mandate? I wonder who (if anyone) would have the authority to do that.

Except if that happened, then the State of Minnesota would be more directly responsible for running the city of Minneapolis. Which, I’m sure, they don’t want to deal with that.

Does the term Activist Judge come to mind? Or does he live too close to the action and it’s more about self preservation ?

Maybe these decisions about cutting police funding should simply be done precinct by precinct. That way, people that want to live in a lawless hell hole of crime can do. But they have to stay in their areas if they want to enjoy this "freedom.". If they venture out, the normal police that normally patrol all other areas are free to arrest them and actually enforce the laws.

This judge is a she, and yeah I suppose there is an aspect of self-preservation going on here. Judge Anderson is just identified as having jurisdiction within Hennepin Co., which is more than just Minneapolis. So it’s possible she doesn’t live in Minneapolis.
