Let me refer you to my neighbors to the south of me in Connecticut. In 2002, the state voted to approve a "Temporary" State Income tax surcharge; 19 years later, that tax is still in place.

That’s like toll roads in Florida. Once the Highway is paid for they are supposed to stop the tolls but it never happens. Bidenflation has raised prices and they won’t be coming down.

My son (17) and I were in L. A. this weekend and there were signs for employment everywhere with the wage listed. He asked why people working at those places would get paid so much. Had to explain the increased unemployment and child tax credit payments. He stated that was dumb. I said and it's the reason your burger, fries and root beer cost $9.

It’s all systematic. Years ago I was complaining to my Dad about fuel prices cutting into the bottom line. He said if I could afford fuel at $5.00 a gallon then it was probably in line with the rest of my expenses, but if fuel prices were $1.00 a gallon and I couldn’t afford it then fuel prices were too high.

That’s what Americans are missing. Except for folks on fixed income who will bare the brunt of the stupidity going on in DC. The rest will adjust and the $12.00 (or insert whatever dollar amount ) burger flipper will still face the same problems he had at $8. Everything else will adjust.

I hope no one is banking on mattress money as a secure plan.

And that's in Lower Alabama. Imagine how much it would be in Los Angeles.

I remember going to a Burger King in Stavanger, Norway, several years ago, and a whopper with fries and a diet coke was 69 Kroner, something like US$11-12 at the then exchange rate.

Wards (local franchise) … quarter + fries + drink = 8 bucks in the ‘burg…

I only know this b/c that’s my employees per diem….I don’t eat that artery clogging crap anymore….but dammit, it still smells good…
