NBC trying to poach Maria Taylor from ESPN in time for Olympics
NBC is trying to sign ESPN’s Maria Taylor so she can be part of its Olympic coverage that begins in a little more than a week on July 23, The Post has learned.

Taylor is hosting the NBA Finals for ESPN, but her contract runs out on July 20. Game 6 is Tuesday, July 20, while a potential Game 7 is scheduled for next Thursday, July 22.

If Taylor were to leave, ESPN would have the unorthodox scenario of potentially having a different host to end a marquee event than the one who started it.

And if that were to happen, the big question becomes "would the 25 people watching it notice?"

Are they gonna pay her $8.0M?

I heard that was her asking price?

Guess if she goes to NBC that she won’t be on college game day on ESPN. Don’t really care where she goes either way. She brought little to nothing to the table on CGD and couldn’t care less about the NBA or olympics. So get paid, do whatever, IDGAF.

On a semi related note since I brought up CGD, anyone notice how wrong the Bear is on his picks? He’s on that show Daily Wager most afternoons and I don’t think he ever wins his top play of the night. Stanford Steve isn’t much better.

Who gives a fcuk if the white chick, the black chick, or the other black chick is on the sidelines. They aren't needed regardless. People who watch that garbage only want to see the game anyways.

All of this — Taylor, Nichols, ESPN, NBC, NBA, the Olympics, etc. — is just a loud fart in the wind as far as I’m concerned. But after all that ESPN has done to appease/promote Taylor, how hilarious would it be to see her ditch them in the middle of the Finals.

you can ask all you want. I think if she was actually going to be in Japan for the Olympics, she'd have to be there now due to the quarantine rules for the media.

Does NBC think this would make some sort of difference for them?

Well, I wasn't going to watch the olympics... BUT IF MARIA TAYLOR'S GOING TO BE ON !!!!

for the Olympics, no. They may like her for the Sunday Night Football as a studio host. I don't see how any of these "hosts" are worth it but I rarely watch the pre and post game shows.

To them whatever they pay her is a drop in the bucket to feel "woke" and hire a black person and pay them a lot to do next to nothing. I agree with BuffaloTN, I don't care who or what is on the sidelines, they're pretty much useless anyway. Let me watch the game, not have them talk between plays about why Player X is wearing a bracelet with his sister's name on it.

I'll give you the only reason anyone would ever tune in to watch for a sideline reporter. If she were naked. That's it. There's no other reason anyone cares. And they still better not miss a key play for it.

Depends on the reporter. Some of them couldn't get me to watch them naked.

NBC has one football game a week, golf, and the Olympics. I'm guessing it would be easy work.

Maria Taylor would be on that list. So would Holly Rowe.

I'd kill someone to see Shannon Spake do a game naked.

Probably just a rumor being spread by her agent to pressure ESPN
