Quote:For decades, Democratic politicians and their enablers in the media cartel have flat-out lied when claiming it is racist to require voters to provide proof of their identities.
A sudden about-face on the issue by Democratic leaders shows the allegation was a cynical, race-baiting falsehood all along.
The change occurred when Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia said he could support the so-called John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act if Democrats would amend it in several ways, including voter ID requirements to cast a ballot.
Quote:In 2014, then-President Barack Obama blasted voter ID laws as a serious barrier to black voters. Now, he endorses Manchin’s “compromise” measure that would include an ID requirement.
What changed? Naked political calculation.
In 2018, Georgia’s wannabe governor, Stacey Abrams, said voter ID laws are intended to “scare people out of voting." Now, she audaciously says, “No one has ever objected to having to prove who you are to vote. It's been part of our nation's history since the inception of voting.”
For years, then-Pastor Raphael Warnock, now a senator from Georgia, claimed ID laws were a form of “voter suppression” so “unnecessary and unjustifiable” that they amount to “dismember[ing]” Martin Luther King Jr.
Now he lies, “I have never been opposed to voter ID. And in fact, I don’t know anybody who is.”
I’ve never been opposed to voter ID itself. My opposition has always been that the efforts to implement these laws are mostly BLATANT attempts at making people who don’t vote Republican less influential in an election. It’s never just a one page bill that says that ID must be shown. It’s voter ID + limiting early voting + limiting same day registration + limiting precincts, etc. The impact of Voter ID itself is easy to make up for, the other things are more difficult. I believe that if the minority voting split was more even between the two parties, voter ID wouldn’t even be something that crosses American lips and that’s probably the thing I dislike most about them.

Anything that strengthens election integrity should be done.
Cleaning up voter rolls is an example of increasing election integrity. Only people legally allowed to vote should be listed on the register. Having excess names on the rolls makes it easier to cast a fake vote under a registered name.
This is also why IDs are important. They increase the likelihood that you are the person you say you are.
Because the voter roll is so important same-day registration should not be allowed. The registration process should include steps to ensure the person registering is valid. This is difficult to do in a timely manner as you walk up to announce you're ready to vote.

What fuqn impact?? Smart black people everywhere are waking up to the huge lies. And this is one of them. Who doesn't have access to public transportation these days? Who doesn't know how to use a computer these days? The fact that the democrats "think" that minorities are too stupid to figure those things out tells us all we need to know about true voter suppression. Oh, and the percentage of people who don't know how to do the things listed above is so small as to be statistical zero I'd bet.
C'mon man, give me a break.
