We asked how NIL will change recruiting. He said "not much for the big people, they're all paying them already anyway".
I asked how a 12-team playoff (if approved) changes his messaging to recruits. He said he's already telling recruits Coastal gives recruits a chance to play for a national title, something lower-tier P5s can't offer.
Also asked if he had $5 at a Wings beach-wear store what he'd walk out with: a hermit crab, salt water taffy, or an air brushed t-shirt

You shoulda asked old Covidwell how he lives with the daily shame that he brought to his team/school by being too chicken to play the 2020 CCG. I’m sure that whole thing is really appealing to recruits.

Your average recruit ranking is .06 higher than stAte and you're talking smack? Who even compares recruiting in June anyways?

While correct, You have to understand that this program is not used to being considered in threads regarding recruiting. This is a first for them and after the embarrassment of dodging last year’s SBC championship game only to still be on the outside looking in I’m sure any news is good news.

We're in peak offseason if we're measuring dicks based on 247 rankings already.
Hell we don't even have someone reliable to update our page and he won't relinquish it to someone that will, yet so many of our fans rage about how "poor" our recruiting is based on it.

Come on guys, yall know that the SBC runs through Conway now. I mean, they are the Co-Champions. But with an asterisk for not actually competing in the Championship game.

Since App is the last true champion, I guess the championship might just have a chance to run through Boone again.

App is the only team to ever win a Sunbelt football championship game. So App is the only Sunbelt champion to ever exist.

It's not for lack of trying by Louisiana. At least last year.

App, Ark State, GS, Troy, and North Texas are the only undisputed champs in Sun Belt history.
Everyone else gets partial credit.

Jamey Chadwell radio interview
So, follow up.
We had on the owner of “The Spurs Up Show” (a South Carolina fan site) who took a mighty exception to Mr Chadwell’s comments stating a kid should come to a school where they actually have a chance to compete for a playoff spot.
Obviously South Carolina has tremendous financial and infrastructure advantages. It’s just amusing to watch the bickering back and forth.

So they should be willing to play a home/home every year, right?

Y’all are too funny. No one gets wins and losses from recruiting, period. Let alone June recruiting, lol. But then all you astute, experienced, know it all’s surely don’t need told that.
But, you’re welcome for the off season reason to comment. Carry on!
At least lotsa people are talking about a Sun Belt team being a disruption for SOME reason. Who cares who.

If I'm the coach of a top tier Group of 5 team and a recruit is thinking about my school or a middling P5 I'm absolutely using the "come here and you have a better shot of getting into the playoff" line.
Spurs Up Chris is right, even a middling P5 has certain advantages over top G5s and no doubt they play in a better conference against better competition, but the question is what's important to the kid. If you can convince a high 3* or low 4* that "all we need is you and we're in the playoff" then you've got a strong pitch.

Seems likes that’s happening a lot lately! Coastal scheduled fireworks for the fifth! Two down today, including our first ever 4*, and one (maybe two) more 3* to go. Y’all keep passing it off as a one year fluke.
Better beat us now.
Btw waiting with baited breath for y’all’s Athletic article to come out…. Will try to read it amongst all the “America’s Fun Team” fun we’re having over here.
