CFN predicting a stronger team than the 2018 team but with a mediocre record to show for it. Hope he’s wrong.

I'm not all that surprised honestly. Sure I was little sad at that prediction, but the schedule is the hardest one we've probably ever had since joining FBS. We've got big names like BYU, Arkansas. Arkansas is pretty winnable IMO, but then there's still App State, ULL, Coastal Carolina.. I think the defense will give us every chance for our new OC, QB and RB to gel. I really, really hope we put up a strong showing because the Sun Belt is quite strong, trending upwards even and I want to be one of the teams that continue to add to that.

No argument about the strength of the SBC, I think APP is loaded, maybe the best we have had since moving up, but there is almost no way anyone runs the table in the conference, every game is going to be a dogfight.

I know I'm biased, but my too early most interesting games list has more G5 teams on it than P5. Hasn't always been the case, but I truly believe those not catching G5, or sun belt in particular, is missing out.

At this point any OOC loss particularly a G5 loss is a nice feather in the cap for the winner. Times have changed so significantly in such a short time we're having a hard time processing it all. If GS get's back to what we think is normal offense delusional or not and we win only 6 games it is freakn on in this conference. Most over here will shoot straight about it and honestly I'm feakn pumped either way. Check with us after the season. [/i]This crap is fun!

On paper GS has a lot of talent coming back. If we have a real QB then I think we are in most games this season. Still the Sun Belt of 2021 is nothing like the Sun Belt of 2014 when we joined. Almost every game seems to be a dog fight.

Ironic our collective success will likely limit an individual teams ceiling due to the competitiveness of the conference this year.

It could limit a team's ceiling or send it soaring if someone can run the gambit unscathed.04-cheers

Good luck with that, overall, the conference is loaded, if someone runs the table they will probably end up top 15 and a legitimate NY6 bowl contender

Don't tell our board that.....winning 7 or less is considered an absolute failure, 8 is a bad year, 9 is well maybe it wasn't all bad but we should do better than that, 10 is acceptable and 11+ is expected. Doesn't matter who we play and what they are ranked, "we're GS and we're supposed to win".

At least that is what some of the more vocal ones think anyway.....

I wish there was a way to humble that side of the fanbase. If Tyson Summers wasn't enough, then it will never happen. Between them, the folk that makes you go "are you serious?" that should've stayed in the tailgate lot, and other assorted nuts in the trailmix, sometimes it's just better to watch the game from my sofa in peace.

Honestly I'd rather be good and have a lackluster season than any alternative other than being good and winning of course. It's all good. The Sun Belt is driving the bus now and we're along for the ride. That is refreshing and welcomed!!! We get back to business and we're just doing our part. 04-cheers to the Sun Belt!

They seem to think that Butch will keep the QB rotation thing. I doubt that.
