CAA Softball...
The CAA has placed Hofstra in the conference tournament with a 6-8 record. This leaves UNCW out with a 9-9 record. So, someone please tell me again how we are treated equally in this conference?

RE: CAA Softball...
From the CAA:
The championship field was comprised of the top two teams from each division earning a berth in the CAA tournament along with an at-large team chosen by a seeding and selection committee.
So I'm guessing Hofstra's 16-14 overall record playing in the tougher division, while we were 15-23 in the weaker division with JMU dominating and everyone else having a losing record overall. Hofstra has a stronger softball history too so that probably played a role, even though no one would ever admit that.
The real question is, why would you have a 5 team tournament knowing you would have to make a decision like that and the teams would not be playing each other??
Why not just do 6?
Towson was 1-11 and Charleston was 0-18 so 6 would have made plenty of sense.
Another dumb decision by this conference

Two things.
1. Get out of a situation where our fate rest in the hands of the conference leadership. They suck.
2. (Extension of #1) Win more games in a easier division.

I think most agree they took the 3rd best team out of the "better" division, however these selection committees within the conference need to go away. Uneven schedules or not, send the best 5 records or top 2 plus best record for the final team. In either case Hofstra bowed out in 2 games yesterday (1-0 to Delaware and 11-3 to Elon).

That might could be a Title IX issue. I don't know, but I've seen crazier cases.

Well, of course. 5 makes little sense ever. Then again womens lacrosse did 29 for the NCAA tournament. Splain that

lol, exactly. If the NCAA has one primary job these days, its to run the tournaments effectively. Everything else is run by the conferences. Even discipline has been limited of late coming from the NCAA, at least as far as I've seen. So its laughable how often they suck at their "one job".
