DENVER — A Colorado baker who won a partial victory at the U.S. Supreme Court in 2018 for refusing to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple went on trial Monday in yet another lawsuit, this one involving a birthday cake for a transgender woman.

Autumn Scardina attempted to order the birthday cake on the same day in 2017 that the high court announced it would hear baker Jack Phillips’ appeal in the wedding cake case. Scardina, an attorney, requested a cake that was blue on the outside and pink on the inside in honor of her gender transition.

Her lawsuit is the latest in a series of cases around the U.S. that pit the rights of LGBTQ people against merchants' religious objections, an issue that remains unsettled by the nation's top court.

I agree, but we know they are targeting this specific baker to try to get court precedent set. Other wise sane individuals do not want to do business with people that clearly hate them and everything they stand for.

Absolutely

People like this attorney simply spend their time looking for ways to destroy people they disagree with. He/She could very easily go to another baker, but instead are hell-bent on forcing people who may have religious beliefs in contradiction to his/her personal beliefs to acquiesce.

Having said that, it does sound like the baker's original argument on the wedding cake was related to the sacrament of marriage; in this case unless there was something deliberately pushing the envelope about the cake (the article doesn't indicate anything more), it sounds like it just had pink and blue colors.

depends on geo + judge....

His solution, though grim, is to get out of the cake making business. Just bake cookies, doughnuts, pastries, etc. but NOT any kind of celebratory cakes. Leave that to the queers to bake their own queer cakes.

It's the easiest route considering that most of our justice system is getting Hitleresque.
