Democrat Senator from Illinois Tammy Duckworth tells CNN that she will henceforth vote against the confirmation of all Biden Administration nominees (almost) over its failure to nominate candidates who are Asian-American Pacific Islanders — AAIP for those of you not up on your “woke-speak” acronyms.

In case you are unaware, Sen. Duckworth was born in Thailand to an American father who was a member of the military, and a Thai mother. After leaving the military, her father worked for the United Nations, and after leaving Thailand she lived in Singapore and Indonesia before her family moved to Hawaii. She graduated from high school and college in Hawaii. She then moved to Washington DC to attend George Washington University, where she joined the Army Reserve following a tradition of military service in her family.

So her ethnic roots and formative years spent in Asian and Pacific Islander communities have her sensitive to the issues of “identity politics” that consume the modern Democrat party. From her perspective, AAPI woke’sters aren’t getting what they were promised.

That is the US Trade Representative and OMB Director — which was the position Nareen Tanden was nominated to fill, but she withdrew due to opposition from both sides over her vitriolic Twitter history.

The US Trade Representative has been confirmed — Katherine Tai — but Duckworth and the AAPI’ers didn’t get BOTH.

This is just TOO GOOD.

Kamala Harris is one-half Indian — the Asian kind. Her mother was an immigrant from India.

But because the Democrat party rode her as an African-American “show pony” based on her father being Jamaican, she only counts for “identity politics” purposes as being “black” and any suggestion otherwise is “incredibly insulting.”

This string of tweets really needs to be turned into an audio recording with a laugh track.

If they want diversity they should nominate at least one person that has a slightly different world view.

Now see, if republicans were somehow a united opposition the way democrats have been for the last 4 years, the treat of a couple of democrat defections in a 50-50 senate could be devastating. But republicans are like a herd of cats, and Mitch cannot lead them.

The only thing saving us from the socialist/communist democrats is the brutally incompetent republicans.

Duckworth initially demanded AAPI individuals be nominated to either the Office of Budget and Management (OMB), Federal Communications Commission (FCC), or various other cabinet positions, saying she would remain a “no” vote until the administration made such commitments.

Duckworth insisted Tuesday that “Asian American lawmakers were told the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) and White House budget director would be Asian American.”

Duckworth’s concerns were also shared Tuesday by Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI), who is also of Asian descent.

“We would like to have a commitment from the White House that there be more diversity representation in the Cabinet and in senior White House positions and until that happens I will be joining her in voting on non-diversity nominees,” Hirono stated.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki also released a statement expressing the administration’s commitment to the AAPI community.

“The President has made it clear that his Administration will reflect the diversity of the country. That has always been, and remains our goal.” Adding, “The White House will add a senior-level Asian American Pacific Islander liaison, who will ensure the community’s voice is further represented and heard,” she said.

Breitbart News reported that Neera Tanden, of Indian descent, withdrew her nomination for Director of the Office of Management and Budget, mentioning, “it now seems clear that there is no path forward to gain confirmation, and I do not want continued consideration of my nomination to be a distraction from your other priorities.”
