Milner/Shumate
These two guys will definitely be our go to guys and team leaders for next year. Watching Milner and his intensity and competitive edge, you could tell he wanted the ball and was very aggressive in attacking the basket.
Shumate, a nice surprise as a D-2 transfer really developed a nice outside shot and immensely helped on the boards along with his shot blocking ability.
With AJ Edu back and healthy, our front line should be fine. Possibly Acunzo will be more aggressive and stronger with his rebounding and putbacks. With a solid backup transfer for post help we should be fine.
Guards !!! IMO, the sky is the limit for Rollins, and if Farmer and Wilson are as good as advertised there is no reason that 2021-22 should not be the year... - Go Rockets !!

Open contest. Lots of maturity and leadership on this team. OU is going to be even better. We do not have anyone coming in to make-up the match-ups needed. Edu if he has his running legs and the promise of Freshman year gains two years, we may have the front court to compete but we would no longer have anyone to styme Preston (NBA Preston just a suggestion) particularly with Sears at his side. Rollins at PG I think will hold us back. He'll be our best on-ball defender and hope against Preston, he can drive, he can shoot but someone else needs step up to run the offense, regardless what Coach K thinks is best for his NBA training.

The key is a solid back up post player

And for Edu to stay healthy...

After two surgeries, there is no guarantee Edu will be 100%. If he plays an entire season healthy then it's a different story. Still don't think Rollins has the handles to be a PG. Don't forget Moss. Hope we can still bring in a big guy, even though there are those who think we don't need any.

Raheem Moss is an impact player if he can get eligible. I saw him play with the Spire Team, terrific player and athlete. Had high D1 offers for football too.

No matter what, we need to have a team deeper than just 7 or 8 guys, that kills us in Cleveland every year when you have to win three games in three days.

On a very sad note, I am hearing UT will be snubbed for the NIT. A double kick in the nuts for a team most deserving of a post season. Hope my source is wrong.

Hard to believe if true on the NIT. MOB on the committee and the MAC can't get it done? Very sad to think that the conference and UT has no leverage/position of strength to get it done? You would think that the NIT would want an offensive power in their tourney for the enjoyment value alone. Sad note for sure if true.

Why, when they can take .500 duke teams, and other watered down p5 programs?

The MAC has never really done Toledo any favors...
Did not expect them to start now...

Deserving, Yes. But frankly see Buffalo going before the Rockets. They have a comparable net (67-72) and played considerably better down the stretch. Yes, UT won head-to-head but don't know how much weight that carries w/the committee over late-season play.

MOB is the key here, not the MAC because he's with the BB Committee on a regular basis. Maybe he can get both teams in.

There is no chance of two MAC teams into the NIT

If the MAC office had any say, and I believe they have very little clout with any selection committee, they’d push for UB over UT.

Hopefully MOB can help here, but I’m hearing no MAC teams into the NIT

Hope I’m wrong, but we’ve all been kicked in the nuts before

I’ll be surprised if we DO get an NIT invite. This isn’t the same Rocket team from December & January—that was a team playing pretty good ball. But they finished 6-4 over their final 10 games, 2-2 in the last 4–which included 3 sub-par performances overall (but particularly when compared to how they used to shoot from 3), and an inexplicable loss to a CMU team playing without 2 of their starters.

In a 32-team NIT I think we’d be in, even if we hadn’t been the regular season MAC champs. Or, if we hadn’t lost to CMU & Ohio but made it to the finals & lost, I think we’d be in the field of 16. The team in December/January might have been able to pull off a couple wins in the NIT. But we’re lying to ourselves if we think the Rockets are playing their best right now. Won’t be surprised if a sub-.500 Duke gets in but we don’t.

Rockets are understandably tired & likely a bit physically beat from a tough grind, maybe even mentally/emotionally shot from Cleveland and/or the ongoing rigors to stave off COVID. Not sure being the last seed in the NIT & getting clobbered in the first game fixes any of that. Sometimes you just need to shut a season down & reflect on it in prep for the next one.

I thought Duke officially ended their season when they pulled out of the ACC tourney.

While I think Rollins can handle the starting point guard spot I think Jamere Hill will be the starting point guard. If he has not broken his leg we would have won that game we were gassed playing 7 next year no matter what we will not be only 7 deep adding Farmer Moss and Jalen Jacoby along with whatever we get from Edu.
