Who will be entering the transfer portal? There has to be at least 1 (in addition to Jones who never showed up). My guess is 2 will go.

Toledo was at the middle of the MAC West at best looking forward in my opinion at the end of last season. Toledo had 6 unknown recruits, lost the entire inside game, Mar was considering professional options, Saunders, Maranka, and Acunzo were unknowns, and AJ’s return after injury was in question. The only real known was Littleson, who could go from 25 to 0 points in a week.

I am not happy for the lack of tournament magic either, but look how the season went. MAC Championships?? What????

Mar came back and provided great leadership, Littleson is a top scorer in the country, 3 guys that were not in the program last year played great and really made a huge difference, Acunzo is a bright shining star, Saunders is beginning to show his athleticism and ability, the bench is deeper, and the recruits look good. Toledo got exposed a little, but if more free throws were made, OU Has a few less OFFENSIVE boards and put backs, and Toledo gets just a little momentum, then we are all trying to get tickets for Cleveland.

Yes, heck of a season. No, a remarkable season very well beyond my expectations. Sad about the tournament, but this is why I think the bid should only be to the season champ. I said it before, it’s just stupid, otherwise.

COY deserved?? Oh my gosh!!! Yes.

Toledo was great at the foul line last night.

They haven’t been lately and the first couple went 1 for 2 when Toledo needed to stay in the game. I do remember later when there was no room for error, they did hit them both. So, good point.

Agree 100%. Watching the team this year on TV certainly helped me get through the COVID shutdown. Loved the team cohesion, their toughness and grit. Fun to watch and overachieved to win a championship. Wished they had won the tournament but got beat by a better team last night. Looking forward to next year.

It was a good season, but the finish was very, very disappointing.

I don't know if anyone is watching, but OU is making Buffalo look like Toledo.

Worse. Buffalo down 20 at the half.

OU looks fresher than all these teams. Clearly benefitting from having half the conference season off due to covid.

This x100, Ohio will win the MAC largely benefiting from the cancellation of games, especially in the last week of play.

RE: 2nd round MAC predictions
I’m watching OU dismantle Buffalo as easily as they did us. Makes is seem like last night wasn’t so bad after all. What troubles me is the possibility that, while we’re likely to be consistently good over the next few years at least, there’s always going to be an OU or a Buffalo, or whoever, that is also going to be good and who has whatever that intangible quality it is that we seem to lack to win the championship.

Then the season will be over and the loyalists will say, we had a really good year and NEXT year when (fill in the blank) gets (healthy, eligible, stronger) we’re going to win it all. We’ve won more next-year championships than any other team in the league.

They played 3 games between 2/3 and 3/10, while the rest of us were banging bodies twice a week. Thats it right there, folks. And if you can’t see it by watching these games the last two nights I don’t know what to tell you.

Apart from our furious last few minutes last night this was a drama free tournament. OU was loose and sharp. Preston is either 1 or 1A player in the MAC. Marreon is the only one who might top him. Congrats, Cats.

Losing in the quarter or semifinals each season despite being the higher seed doesn’t cut it anymore for me, my friends, and most of the other fans I talk with. Bcunn says it best, the football and basketball teams underperform every year. Getting tired of it.

Maybe things will turn out different next March. I’m not holding my breath.

I do think this was a heck of a season. In my opinion, winning the regular season championship and finishing in first place after a grind of a season is a more impressive accomplishment than winning 3 games in Cleveland. Especially during this COVID season.

Yes, I know that teams are judged by NCAA Tournament appearances, but the regular season championship should not be devalued. Losing in the conference tournament as a top seed is not unique to Toledo. 12 #1 seeds in mid major conferences lost in their tournaments this season.

If Buffalo wins we need to kick them out of the MAC. They have become the most consistent performer across the 3 “big” sports combined...winning seasons year after year and this would be their 8th title in those big 3 sports since 2006. Think about it: on average, they win 1 of the big 3 championships every other year. Wouldn’t we Rocket fans be giddy with that kind of success?

While Buffalo has accomplished a lot in men's and women's basketball since 2006, their football program has not been better than ours. Since 2006, Toledo is 107-75 overall and 76-55 in MAC Play with one MAC Championship (2017). In that same time span, Buffalo is 79-101 overall and 54-62 in MAC play with one MAC Championship (2008).
