At this point, pretty much everything's open here & you'd think things are normal aside from mask mandates.

Total scam.

Also, in related news: CDC guidelines require 3 feet of social distancing instead of 6 at schools. Womp womp.
"We don't really have the evidence 6 feet is required in order to maintain low spread," said Greta Massetti who leads the CDC's community interventions task force.

This makes me pissed. Not only was it to get Red out, they were just making it up as they went. So much for "science" LOL.

Is the virus still out there or not??

24 hours after he swore in she announced the opening of bars and restaurants. Effing joke.

Anyone who works in the service industry and still votes for her has the cognitive ability of a goldfish.

I think the bigger joke is the misinformation being spewed here.

The original restrictions were set to expire mid January. However, on January 13th (a week before inauguration) she extended the restrictions through the end of the month.

Quote:LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Gretchen Whitmer provided an update on COVID-19 in Michigan on Wednesday, extending restrictions, offering a possible reopen date for restaurants and talking about vaccine distribution, unemployment payments and more.

Michigan has extended the COVID-19 restrictions in Michigan through the end of January, but the order has been revised to allow more forms of physical activity.

The order, which was scheduled to expire Friday (Jan. 15), has been extended until Jan. 31. Restaurants are not allowed to open for indoor dining and entertainment venues can’t offer concessions during that time, Gordon said.

Indoor residential gatherings remain limited to 10 people and two households. MDHHS continues to urge families to avoid indoor gatherings or to pick a single other household to interact with consistent with guidance already released by the department.

Then on February 1st, restaurants were allowed to resume in-person dining, but only at 25% of capacity through February 21st.

Quote:Lansing — Indoor dining at restaurants and bars in Michigan will resume on Feb. 1, 75 days after it was suspended amid a surge in COVID-19 infections.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced the reopening Friday morning, the latest signal that health officials believe the state is moving past a second wave of the virus that struck in the fall.

Under a new epidemic order that will last from Feb. 1 through Feb. 21, restaurants and bars will be allowed to offer indoor dining at 25% capacity with up to 100 people, and they must close by 10 p.m. each night. Tables must also be six feet apart with no more than six people per table.

Additionally, restaurants were required to keep records so contact tracing could be done.

Quote:Diners will be required again to provide contact tracing information for restaurants, and eateries must close and be deep cleaned if an employee is confirmed positive for the virus or shows symptoms.

It wasn't until Friday, March 5th that bars and restaurants were allowed to increase capacity to 50%, which is the current restriction. So no, bars and restaurants in Michigan were not fully opened by some announcement 24 hours after the inauguration. 03-zzz

Quote:Restaurants can accept twice as many indoor diners, shops and businesses can also allow more customers and private gatherings may involve more people under a new state health order set to take effect Friday.

The state will also ease mandates on nursing home visitors, allowing those who have received a negative COVID-19 test to visit their loved ones.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced the changes during a news conference Tuesday afternoon.

Pound sand, Tom. Is the virus still out there or not??? What about the potential long-term effects??? It was a con & you know it. What if all those people at those bars get infected & the hospitals get overwhelmed & you good little Blue Boy who stayed in his basement & "did his part" get infected & won't have a bed???? No way in hell they're all vaccinated.

And no, clown, I did not hide in my basement. I've changed literally nothing other than wearing a mask when I among people...as did the vast majority of everyone else in America.

Again, I don't have a party. And nowhere did I say the only change was a mask mandate. I explained to you that at no time in the aftermath of Biden being sworn in did the State of Michigan fully open up its bars and restaurants. And in fact, they're still not fully open even today. They're at 50% capacity. And as I said above, that doesn't mean that said bars and restaurants are following the orders...because 'merica. Why you don't know this as a resident of Michigan is beyond me.

What I said is that for me personally, I basically changed nothing. My employer required me to work from home starting last March and I'm still on home work until at least July. I physically go to my church each week (when it's not closed due to a COVID outbreak as we are now for the second time this past year) as well as going to WalMart and other stores several times a week to do my shopping. Other than that, the only thing I make sure I do is wear my mask when around people.
