Bowl predictions
Hahahaha, like this means anything in this year!

But ESPN has us playing Nevada in the Spud Bowl on December 22, which would be three days after the MAC Championship. Should we be so lucky to be healthy enough and win to get to Detroit, and win that, hell, why not hop on a plane immediately and go play one more game?

Too early to swing into the BIGGBY COFFEE being developed in Boise though.

There’s no way either MACC team gets that game right?

I don’t see any non New Years 6 bowl happening if no fans. The point of those bowls is fan bases coming in to boost local economy. Maybe state of Florida or Texas bowls since it seems those are allowing fans. Gonna be a weird year

RE: Bowl predictions
Let’s say it happens. I wouldn’t object to Lester coming out and saying “look, I’m not going to jeopardize next season or the health of my players, so dinged up underclassmen or seniors with pro aspirations are sitting, and we’re just going to show up and wing it with some freshmen and see what happens.” I wouldn’t, given the ridiculously odd circumstances.

RE: Bowl predictions
I know basketball paydays aren't anywhere near as meaty as football ones, but losing Notre Dame (and maybe MSU Sunday) isn't helping our depleted financial coffers.

If we don't make the MACC, it'd be the only year where I'd say it's understandable if the administration turns down a bowl invite. Going to Boise or Tuscon can't be cheap.

And that says nothing of trying to keep dozens of kids safe and social distanced during the course of the trip.

Losing the local Detroit option hurts.

Arizona Bowl on 12/31 seems more likely.

RE: Bowl predictions
Despite our dismal bowl record, I love bowl season & have no problem w/ 7-5 type teams playing in them. I generally don't think there's too many bowls at all.

But this season I'd be happy w/ just the MAC Champ going to a bowl. I also have a hard time seeing the usual 5 or 6 MAC teams going this year. Expect more bowls to get cancelled.

From what I'm hearing....MAC is only GUARANTEED one bowl game this year. They are hopeful they get two but that may be it. It's going to be a strange bowl season all around.

I don't mind 7-5 teams playing either, although I do have a problem with:

- 5-7 teams playing at all. They shouldn't be fillers.
- 6-6 teams playing when they have a (non-Top-20) D1AA team win under their belt. They instead should be the fillers for lack of teams in bowls.
- Teams losing $$ on bowls by merely going to them. Most $ is made via TV anyway. Losing $ on merely going to & playing in a bowl should be an exception, not the norm in blah-bowls.

RE: Bowl predictions
Would a bowl game be handled like it was a road game this year? I can't see these bowls holding all of those public outings that go along with it so there's no need to be there for 5 days. I could see testing everyone the morning before the game and those that test negative for covid hop on a clean plane, stay one night, play the game, then fly home.

RE: Bowl predictions
Unless we win the MAC, a bowl game isn't worth it this year -- unless it's a game in Detroit.

Our D will get lit up like a freshman girl on the rebound from a ex-BF, at a frat party after-hours with tons of jungle juice left.

It won't be worth bowling as there's going to be fewer bowls, which means tougher teams. Which means our D being taken behind the woodshed to be wailed on, would be an understatement.
