Baylor QB Charlie Brewer in the portal. Rumors say SMU. If that’s fact not rumor it looks like Boosh is passing up his extra year.

Looks like Temple is biting the bullet and going to clean house and restart.
Maybe not a terrible idea with so many coaches, transitions, and a tough year just to try and get on the field.

You're really fed up with Memphis, huh? You had a good season this year going 7-3.

welp, houston is taking a nose dive. two of our best players are opting for the NFL and our leading receiver and running back are transferring along with some solid lineman.
this is going to be sad.

Hate to see that. The American needs a strong Houston team to reach its potential. Hopefully you bounce back quick and surprise us.

yeah i don't know. im impressed with the QB play and the jump since last year but our talent pool keeps dropping out. i still have some hope though because his system does put up some good stats but we need some winning years if we want to land some nice recruits.

It is happening to a lot of teams in the league. Most of it seems to be an upward mobility situation. NFL or P5 quest is assumed to improve your lot in life if you play football.

Losing a guy or two is one thing - losing half your production is another. I am starting to think that Holgy doesn't exactly have this locker room.

Will Jones, DB, former 4 star recruit from Kansas State
Jamari Stewart, DE from Mississippi State.

They are saying they same types of things at Temple. Not sure what to believe. Certainly the portal is disruptive. If the league's best players all gravitate to P5 and the P5's lesser players slide to the AAC or lower, that only exacerbates the divide. Right now it does not look pretty, but I understand players having to look out for themselves. Hell their coaches certainly had no misgivings about moving on up.

Not all transfers are created equal. Most of Temples outgoing transfers have 1 year of eligibility left; they are taking a risk that their new situation is better, that they will mesh with the coaching staff, be starters and improve their draft spot. Compare two of last years transfers: Roche to Miami did not have the impact on his draftability that he may have believed; meanwhile Yeboah definitely found a better situation. I think our current out transfers will also have a mixed bag of success, some will flourish and some will fade away. IMO most will not get what they think they will.
