RE: The Seahawk Basketball Show Featuring Takayo Siddle
Just watched, similar format to before. You know one thing i like, and it's subtle, but it's the Seahawk Basketball show Featuring Takayo Siddle. Whereas, before it was the CB McGrath show, the Kevin Keatts show wtc..... might not seem like much, but to me it is.

As much as we turn over coaches, it makes more sense...lol

Does Claflin have a show? I'd pay good money to watch the Claflin Show.
I try to block out that time period, but if my memory serves me correctly " Well, they made some tough shots" was uttered 4,742 times on that show, but who's counting?

One could argue that McGrath recruited some really talented guys but this current staff has them playing a more effective and fun style. The future is very bright.

Same could have been said for Buzz. But, recruiting it only part of the job. You have to be able to develop them as individuals, and put them in the right places on the court to succeed. He didn't do either of those things well.
Luckily, it appears we have someone now who might be able too do all 3!

In my humble opinion, you don't see many pure coaches with most power 5 conferences. They recruit top flight players and for the most part let talent take over - much like pro coaches. The mid-major level is different. Lesser talent has to be coached up. The majority of power 5 assistants have not had to truly teach and coach. There are exceptions - Jerry Wainwright was one but it wasn't surprising when you consider his work & experience at lower levels. The same could be said of Keatts. How much experience did Buzz and/or McGrath have assessing & truly coaching up talent? Had Devontae Cacock gone to a power 5 team (as a walk on or even a scholarship) I submit he wouldn't be where he is today.
