For a team like NU, she's a big difference-maker.

Hope NU gets another crack at the Dragons in the tourney.

That could definitely be a game changer especially since you guys seem to be giving most fits currently, even if you arent getting the wins. I would rather not, since our relative recent history, NU has always been a thorn and a battle for Drexel, even if we have come out on top more. Based on results so far, it should be a fun tournament with several twists and turns

Timer just posted that next weekends games against Hofstra are cancelled due to a positive Covid Test in their tier 1 group.

I'm really bad at this admin stuff. This is the second time that I got distracted and deleted a post instead of replying to it.

Spiker said something on the conference call today that overall 80% of games have been played and the CAA is at 75% - so they are only a little worse than average.

I bet that is skewed. Games played is different than rescheduled etc. CAA has made some games up and moved games around. I bet we are much worse than other conferences if it was games played as scheduled. Regardless it feels worse in this conference than on a national level. Then again if you go to an espn nearly every night there is a decently lengthy list of PPD games.

W&M Women's Basketball Team just opted out of the remainder of the season, but the CAA plans on continuing with a 9 team conference tournament. Drexel at least got their games in with them.

In a small way, this slightly hurts a team like Drexel that has a chance to finish 2nd in the CAA. The 2nd place team will no longer get to start fresh against a team that played the day before.

Nihill had an incredible night tonight scoring 32 of Drexel's 60 points, but the rest of the team just couldn't get their shooting game going. Drexel loses 68-60 to first place Delaware as they lost to them for the first time in 12 games. Dragons were dominated in the 2nd quarter and trailed by as much as 17. They got the score back to within 4 in the 2nd half, but they didn't have the energy to make shot late to pull it out.

RE: Drexel Women's Basketball 2020-2021
We’ve made our living off teams that are too stupid to use their size/athleticism against us. It actually looked like they were running plays to open up threes...which was insane considering how they were dominating inside.

Lots of PT for the freshman valentine. She gives us size but has to box out better. Hopefully more than just nihill shows up tomorrow. Washington wasn’t a factor yesterday.

RE: Drexel Women's Basketball 2020-2021
Delaware is about to pull out a weekend sweep of the Dragons. Delaware's first season sweep of Drexel since the 2013 season, which was DD's senior year. It's going to be interesting in the coming weeks because the top 4 teams in the CAA, Delaware, JMU, Towson, and Drexel all face off against each other in the final 2 weeks of the season. Unfortunately, Drexel lost 4 winnable home games against Charleston and Hofstra that probably won't get made up, and that will likely cost Drexel a few seeds.

RE: Drexel Women's Basketball 2020-2021
After an awful weekend against first place Delaware, Drexel went down to Towson and came out with a lot of energy and ready to avenge last weekend. Dragons dominate a very good Towson team 71-55 in a game that was never close. Drexel lead by 30 at one point. Right now, Drexel is tied with JMU for third place at 7-4. JMU starts a huge 2 game series tonight at 6 against first place Delaware.

Hopefully Drexel can come out strong again tomorrow. I worry a bit with the way the game ended, but with Jeter not at full strength, it is a game we where we should be able handle them.

RE: Drexel Women's Basketball 2020-2021
Delaware just beat JMU in OT, so that puts Drexel in sole possession of 3rd behind Delaware and Towson. So tomorrow's game is big for Drexel as they try to put themselves into 2nd place. Hopefully there are no Covid cases among the top 4 teams in the CAA because we've got some really exciting games to look forward to in the final two weekends.

Used to be a big deal. I guess the higher your seed is, the better your chances of advancing. I'm sure Drexel wants to avoid Elon on their home court, who beat Drexel earlier this year at the DAC.

Also, there's no automatic bid for the WNIT this year, but I'm sure that they'll want to include a team from the CAA so the 2 seed would have the best shot at getting in assuming that Delaware wins the tournament as the 1 seed.

I haven't looked at the ratings this year, but I'm thinking that Delaware might have a shot at an at large bid this year.

RE: Drexel Women's Basketball 2020-2021
Drexel loses to Towson today and JMU beats Delaware. So Drexel is now in 4th place, 1/2 game behind 3rd place JMU who they play twice at the DAC next weekend.

There is an extra weekend built into the women's schedule that's not in the men's schedule. So it will be interesting to see if the CAA can get Charleston or Hofstra to come to the DAC for makeups at the end of the season in games that Drexel would likely need for seeding purposes. Towson and UNCW are making up games after the season. Charleston has only played 6 games so they would need to play 2 more games to be eligible for the CAA Tournament.

Nice Opinion column by Mike Jensen of the Inquirer about Hannah Nihil, who is having an unbelievable season carrying the Dragons this year.

There is clearly not much difference between the top 4 this year. Delaware does seem to be slightly above but barely. Based on the season so far I would expect another split with JMU, though I still think thats a bad matchup for us. Towson is truly a one woman show with Jeter.

all that size/athleticism and peyton mcdaniel just wants to shoot threes. meanwhile nihill who is half her size is carving her team up like a turkey.

women's teams used to know how to play. it's a shame they don't anymore either.

RE: Drexel Women's Basketball 2020-2021
This was an amazing win for the Dragons today, 51-48 over JMU. It was basically 2 completely different games. JMU dominated the first half by destroying Drexel on the offensive boards. Drexel trailed by 15 at halftime and 17 (28-11) one minute into the 3rd. I don't know what Coach Mallon told them at halftime but the adjustments worked. Furious 3rd quarter comeback to tie the game at 39 after 3 quarter and they pulled out the 3 point win with a solid 4th quarter. Drexel outscored JMU 40-20 in the final 19 minutes of the game.
