Boy scout abuse claims
This is starting to get on my nerves. I've had spam e-mails the last two days. The ads are on TV every night, multiple times. Its the ambulance chasers going after boy scout abuse claims.

It tells me way too much of this money is going into the hands of the lawyers.

RE: Boy scout abuse claims
One of the things that bothers me about the ads (among others) is that they are on during the middle of the day and in the early evening for kids to watch. I have two boys that are 8 and 9. They are in the Scouts. We've already had conversations prior to this about improper touching, making sure you stay in a group of two, etc. plus the Scouts do a good job educating the kids. But I don't need them seeing this crap on TV. Its led to more difficult discussions. My 9 year old is starting to wonder if the Scouts are safe.

And yes, the plaintiff attorneys will keep 45-50% of the settlements. After expenses the plaintiffs will receive peanuts. The trust the Scouts have already filed for bankruptcy, the fund they have established will be bled dry.
