Exclamation Forfeits or Other Consequences and Moving Back the Championship Game.
There really needs to be some clear consequences in the W/L category for teams that can't play because of Covid results. As far as the AAC championship goes it's pretty wide open. There are favorites like UCF, UC, Memphis, SMU, but also Navy, Tulane, Houston, Temple are right there as well. Not to mention Tulsa who has the talent. When it comes time to decide who gets in the championship game if different teams have played different numbers of conference games this will get real messy. This could very well end with having a team who was ready but was canceled on not make the championship game because they played less games.

While I understand forfeits are a hard thing to do you can't punish the team that doesn't cancel. I say give them the W and give the team that canceled no decision or a tie if the game doesn't end up being played.

Say you end up with three one loss teams and one of them has less wins because another team canceled on them. Do you go by winning percentage and that team which did nothing wrong is just SOL. Do break the tie by head to head results?, but then in such competitive conference every game is a possible loss you can't assume a victory.

The quickest fix I see is move the Championship game from Dec 5. to the 12th or 19th. That would give us two weeks to make up games.

All of the P5 conferences are Playing theirs on 19th this year. Honestly whoever wins the conference could use a bump in the polls later rather than sooner. I think it would also push us past whatever BYU/G5 teams would be out there to get in the access bowls as well.

Just my humble observation.

Given the Memphis-UH game had been rescheduled to 12/5, I'm guessing the conference championship won't be played 12/5.

Yeah, they said it would be moved moved back to the 12th or 19th(must have this this board right). Like I said that is a good thing. Out sight site is out of mind for these clown pollsters. Playing the CCG does nothing but help in that regard.

My point remains that forfeits and such should be on the table for conference games for purposes of determining who goes to the CCG. This isn't a shot at Memphis, but rather should be a message to the players to be responsible and to the coaches to not pull the crap that Baylor did.

We haven't had enough cancellations where we can't make them up with the extra two weeks, right? I know it's early, but hopefully we can get the majority in.
