Most of the people there would love to be free and their Commie leadership is tired. Besides, my grandparents traveled their annually for vacation and back in the day it was nicer than Vegas.

We have a lot of Vietnamese here in Houston. My son had several Vietnamese friends in HS.

When we started to open up there, the Vietnamese exiles here got at the head of the line for opening businesses there. I know of Vietnamese here who are importing tilapia, catfish, jewelry, and numerous other items grown/made in Vietnam by some of their relatives.

There has to be some way to do that with Cuban exiles in Florida. Tell Cuba we will open up relations, but the Cubans here get to make the money. They came here because they are capitalists. If they can recapitalize their homeland and make big bucks doing it, there has to be a way to get them onboard.

Yes. It's best not to have a port that services your enemies' nuclear subs parked right off of your coastline.

There is nothing that says it would be democratic forever. Not everyone stuck in Cuba after the Revolution chose to be communist in anything other than practice. Once you scrapped the Che' lives matter art, they might have quite the fresh start.

Obama was Marxist seeking to help his comrades. A Trump move in that direction would be market oriented. If a country raises its standard of living it tends not to be hostile, especially if free elections accompany the open trade.

Open trade with China just makes a select group of apparatchiks wealthy and entrenches the power of the Communist Party System there. Make the people wealthier and open their elections and things change. By slightly raising the average quality of life for common Chinese people we achieved no advantages in China.
