Another Day in DeBlasio's 'Safest City'
Gotta love those firemen. They're in shape and not standing for the nonsense. Sic 'em!
Good question here.

RE: Another Day in DeBlasio's 'Safest City'
De Blasio boasts of ‘peaceful weekend’ despite 22 shooting incidents across NYC
NYC under DeBlasio trying to match Chicago's shooting numbers.
Quote:At least 28 people were shot over the past three days in New York City — including a 6-year-old boy who had his femur shattered — and that’s what Mayor Bill de Blasio calls a “peaceful weekend.”
Hizzoner boasted during his daily briefing to reporters about Labor Day weekend despite the bloodbath — 22 shooting incidents involving 28 people from Friday through Monday, according to NYPD statistics.
Among the victims were the boy and his mother, who were struck by bullets with three others during J’Ouvert celebrations early Monday morning in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
“Thank God none have life-threatening injuries,” de Blasio said. “Except for that incident, overwhelmingly we had a peaceful weekend in central Brooklyn and it really is because of the hard work of everyone.”
Later pressed on characterizing the long weekend as “peaceful,” he doubled down.
“I was talking about central Brooklyn,” he snapped at a reporter.
The shooting statistics for this year’s Labor Day weekend are up compared to last year, when 19 people were shot in 16 incidents.
De Blasio was then asked whether police are doing enough to curb the gun violence that’s been wracking the city.
“I think the entire nature of the NYPD is to think proactively and strategically and that’s what we’re seeing,” he replied.
“Everything I’m seeing suggests more and more targeted activity by police, more and more police being moved where the need is greatest. The number of gun arrests now at the same level it was last year and in fact, it’s been growing.”
But a Post analysis showed that gun arrests are actually down 20 percent through late August, despite historically hovering around 30 to 33 percent.
