No

We're at a point where, believe the narrative or not, wearing a mask is essential to allowing life to go on.

I work in the transportation industry, obviously. When I fly passengers, they are required by the state to wear a mask at all times. That is part of our mitigation plan and is essentially the only reason I and others are allowed to go to work and make a living. So people like you taking a selfish stand and refusing or taking your mask off when you're out of sight are putting our livelihoods at risk. All it takes is one person (Karen or otherwise) taking pictures and raising hell about our enforcement to put my job in jeopardy. So whether you think it's a real public health issue or not, it's pretty selfish IMO to throw a tantrum and take your personal stand against masks at this point.

And I don't even disagree that the conversation about personal freedoms needs to be had. In the meantime? Gotta play the hand we're dealt.

Companies have the right to set policy on their property.
I'll take distance over masks every time. On buses or planes or trains, you probably don't have distance.

RE: Texas overcounts cases
Game show host Chuck Woolery (my mom was actually on one of his shows years ago but that's a different story) on Monday on Twitter

“The most outrageous lies are the ones about Covid 19. Everyone is lying. The CDC, Media, Democrats, our Doctors, not all but most, that we are told to trust. I think it’s all about the election and keeping the economy from coming back, which is about the election. I’m sick of it," Woolery wrote. Trump liked the tweet so much he re-tweeted it.

Tuesday (the very next day), here's another tweet from Woolery.

“To further clarify and add perspective, Covid-19 is real and it is here. My son tested positive for the virus, and I feel for of those suffering and especially for those who have lost loved ones."

He deleted his twitter account shortly thereafter.

More team over fact.

Each day fraudulent reporting is outed. Each day the same people don’t care.

He clarified. What he said the first time was 100% true. And it doesn't contradict the "real and it is here."

I’m actually embarrassed I bought into the freak out in March.

I apologize to several of you that I argued with about how serious this really was. I usually don’t swing at the curveball on the 0-0 count.

My sister, age 56, just got done with her 14 day quarantine after testing positive and the only thing affecting her was loss of taste and smell.

Nope we all do (we're required to). Part of the time at least (I wear it at all times indoors). It's a long story.

But people skirt the order all the time. In Harris County, there are all sorts of clubs and hang-out spots that continue to be packed - way more than the state is currently allowed. TABC is closing down some of them, but not enough and not quickly enough.

The guy in the hospital has a 2nd job and it's pretty likely he got the virus there.

Nobody ever said it's all a hoax, so you're being dishonest and disingenuous to parrot that as a talking point.

But do wear your damn masks, people. This ain't rocket science.

Thank you.

Anecdotally, I had dinner with a friend last night who is vacationing near me who is a contractor and who was a client when I lived in Cincinnati.

One of his employees was around someone who tested positive. His family and he all went to be tested despite feeling fine. They filled out the paperwork but the wait was hours long. They eventually said the heck with it and went home without being tested.

They recently got a letter saying they all tested positive. He wanted to know what he’s supposed to do. Lol

If the private establishment requires I wear a mask, if I choose to go there I wear one. If I am somewhere I can’t social distance, I’ll put one on.

Just going to the grocery or gas station where I can keep a distance.......nah - no mask.

Waiting for some Karen to say something so I can tell her to not politely eff-off.

Looks like my two main groceries are going to require wearing one next week.....I’ll try and limit my trips there to the bare minimum.

You are making an assumption. Miami says masks don't work. The city has been under a mandatory mask order since early April. Let people live. We have given our governments way more power than they deserve.

RE: Texas overcounts cases
Let's all give it the benefit of the doubt. I wear a mask at stores but when there's no one close I pull it down as I have a hard time breathing with them, (I can't believe part of my job was wearing Scott packs but hey they paid me to wear them). It's really no big deal for me. So what if I suffer a little when I have it on, at least it'll give some people peace of mind because you never know they might have elderly living in their home and they don't want to risk getting them sick. I know I get a little nervous about it because my wife IS ill and I sure don't want to complicate matters anymore than I have to with her condition. I'm 72 so because of that I don't want to get sick again because there would be NO ONE to take care of me because my wife is barely able to take care of herself. If I died it would be horrible for her.

So let's say that if perhaps masks do help why not wear them. If it's a matter of pride remember what the Bible says about pride.

Its all over the place. We just discovered one of my wives former co-workers who is about that same age (late 50s) died of it. Others just had a fever. Others just felt like a cold after losing taste and smell. Others it was the worst "flue" they had ever had. So we "know" 3 who have died of it, although only the co-worker well. The other two were elderly with other conditions.
