Floyd family going for the bucks

Sounds like this is going to be profitable for the attorney.

"Lawuits against police officers over wrongful death rarely go to trial in Minnesota as city officials worry that a jury could award even more money than a settlement. Payouts involving police encounters have varied widely in recent years in Minneapolis and a nearby suburb; some have been huge.

In 2019, the excessive-force lawsuit by the family of the Justine Ruszczyk Damond, who was white, was settled for $20 million, the largest in the city’s history. An unarmed Damond was shot in the alley behind her southwest Minneapolis home by the now-imprisoned officer, Mohamed Noor.

Also last year, the family of Jamar Clark, a young Black man who was fatally shot by Minneapolis police in 2015, reached a $200,000 settlement with the city. It came months after the City Council rejected a previous offer as too low.

The mother of Philando Castile, a Black motorist killed by a St. Anthony police officer in 2016, has reached a nearly $3 million settlement with the city that employed the former officer, Jeronimo Yanez, who was acquitted of manslaughter."

Wonder why why never heard of the convicted Muslim officer shooting the white girl?

You weren't reading then. Damond was an Aussie, so that shooting was international news.

Well...We knew this was coming..and..Im fine with it. The police union and the city allowed this POS to remain an officer after he should long ago been fired and removed from being a cop.

Reason #1,932 why Unions suck......

They were very important and definitely were needed decades ago, but they have long since outlasted their proper usefulness.

We really don't know that. Media is busy race baiting.

Heard he had something like 18 complaints, but the average was 40. We know they worked together, but no questions about whether this may have stemmed from something back then.

When media and government is playing these stupid games trying to stir up racial hatred, it makes it difficult to learn. Instead its a cartoon stereotype.

What family wouldn’t sue for wrongful death under those circumstances?

they gotta pay for those expensive funerals somehow. I'm sure he didn't have life insurance or a burial policy large enough to include horse-drawn carriage rides and services in 3 states.
